This shouldn't require it to be raining, especially since it hits allies. It's a divine power for Clerics and possible a natural power for Druids.

It's really not much more effecting than a Fireball yet holds numerous limitations. So long as they are outdoors I suggest it's usage be allowed. Indoors should remain as it is, non-usable.

BrittanyPanthas

Revert it back to 1d6/level if this is done.

TheWastesAreFrozen

If it's reverted to 1d6 it should not hit allies. If it hits allies it should be bumped up a little since it can't be used indoors. If it's at 1d10 maybe 1d8 and no raining requirement ? :D

BrittanyPanthas

Depends, does its current implementation damage the caster as well?  If it does, then 1d8 may be considered.  But if it doesn't, then 1d6 would be necessary given that it would put it far above Fireball and Scintillating Sphere as a Level 3 spell, given that the caster could use it for point blank AoE capabilities.

MrBrög

If it hits the caster also, I don't really see how that makes sense, from an IC view since the caster is calling down the power of his god to aid him. Personally I dislike that it hits allies too, but to not leave the subject- I agree, it should not have to rain when you use this.

Thomas_Not_very_wise

This spell does 1d10/level when it's raining. It makes perfect sense to use it when it's raining. The spell at the moment is the most powerful AoE at the third circle. In my book, makes perfect sense.

Canzah

It rains quite a lot of Ymph. And I would like to add, that if it hits the caster, then unlike fireball you cannot avoid it by aiming.

Drakill Tannan

1.- It must be in outdoor areas.

2- I pressume it can't be used underwater areas either.

3.- It must be raining

4.- One must have the spell prepared or be able to rest after it starts raining and NOT be on a SQA.

I'd say it's pretty damn liminted. 1d8 and castable while it's not raining i'd say.

athousandyearsofpain

Not to mention- Usually when you're going to a quest and its raining, it isn't raining inside the quest area.

Kotenku

Keep it how it is. Call Lightning is ridiculously powerful in whatever form it comes in, so I think it's better off in a form where it is only useful in specific circumstances.

lovethesuit

A druid shouldn't be a wizard, anyhow. What Call Lightning offers to the divine classes is something very unique, and different from their regular arsenal of spells. To take such an aggressive spell is a choice that has appropriate consequences.

FleetingHeart

Perhaps instead of asking to change the spell, you ought to be asking yourself how you can change... the weather.

TheWastesAreFrozen

I'd rather ask for the spell change since in it's current form it has too many limitations. For those saying it's overpowered...it's basically a fireball with a little more damage and numerous restrictions on it's usage. For clerics it's a divine spell granted by their deity and nothing else, just like all of their other spells. The damage of it was increased because of the limitations put on it, sadly those limitations are too great in number for it to be used most times.

derfo

look out someone's lightning nonsense might have the slim potential to do a couple more points of damage in an incredibly limited situation. how overpowered

Drakill Tannan

Actually it's nor really a couple, from 1d6 to 1d10 it's arround 2 more damage per level averagely, wich means at level... say seven 14 points of damage, wich is quite a lot more.

Not like i've ever seen it used by a PC. Meeting all the conditions to use it is nearly imposible.

make it 1d8 damage and make it castable even while it doesn't rain.

And i had suggested before a way to make druids make rain, was ignored as usual.
