Animal Companions and Spawns

I'm bringing this back up again, mainly because I'm not honestly satisfied with the previous response.

Animal Companions don't just increase the number of spawns. They double them. For every Animal Companion that is out, you get whatever spawns are appropriate for your group. For example, if you had two druids each with their animal out, you will get triple spawns.

This includes the end boss.


Now, this was never the case in EFU Classic. I used my Animal Companion various times on quests before and never had this kind of issue. Sure, it was hard using the companion and it often died, but it never caused double spawns.

Therefore I have to conclude that there is a bug, and that it is fixable, because it didn't exist before. Worse, it's the type of bug that will cause utter ruin to any group. Could you imagine Vrazdyn Keep, Beastmen, or Brood Hive with double end bosses and mini bosses? And those probably aren't even considered some of the more difficult quests on the server.

Universal as near as I can tell. Was too chicken shit to try it on some quests though.

I can confirm it absolutely on the Beetle quest in Starwood. I could roll up another druid quick and test it on some of the other quests around too. I do recall getting a lot of Sand Spiders the one time I did that quest with a druid, however had to unsummon my companion before getting to the end. So, I don't know that the end boss was doubled.

As for when it started, I have no idea, unfortunately. It has been like this ever since I started playing EFU:A again. So it could be as little as a few months, to almost a year. I hadn't reported it until now because I wasn't aware that it was a problem until I had others tell me that AEd animals and Animal Companions were messing up spawns in other places. I'm guessing Familiars are too, except they never get used in quests except to buff before hand, generally.

It was always the case... Since we use the bioware encounter system just as we did on efu.

There is absolutely no way to avoid it aside from re-design the encounter system as a whole which would be so painful that I'd rather not even think about it. :-(

But - this include the end boss? You've seen the end boss spawn twice? You sure of this? Can you name the quest?

I've killed two queen beetles on the starwood beetle quest before. Three when I went in with another druid and their companion. Tried the quest repeatedly with and without. Companion always resulted in a double boss spawn, whereas without, I only got one boss.

I'd be happy to help test this on other quests though, to verify that it is more than just this one quest.
