Much like subdual and spar modes throw up *subdued* and *winded* talk messages on PCs, would it be possible to add something like *collapses, bleeding* to a PC that is reduced to negative hitpoints and maybe  *grunts in pain* to one Near Death or Badly Wounded? This would allow a reasonable response to help PCs in mortal danger, replacing the party health bars by serving as a very rough indicator. It would also add a bit of reactive effect to the battle, rather than people fighting mostly in silence so they can click items.

Or the players could just emote it themselves.

johanmaxon

"PARDON ME FELLOWS I HAPPEN TO HAVE BEEN ESKEWERED BY THAT INSIDIOUS FELLOW. MIGHT YOU SPARE A DROP O' THE BREW? A FINE HEALING TINCTURE SHALL DO NICELY".

This.

At least quote your source, my friend.  RwG should be none too pleased.
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

There's a voiceset message that already does it automatically for you if you listen carefully ;)

Mort

I might make a blood-letting animation to go with bleeding. Making it more aesthetically pleasing and would provide a visual cue.

jungleman

I am all in favor of GORE.

Pinefish

Whooo, go bleeding on people!

Yeah, but everyone on EfU uses the non-default voicesets, and there's lots of them that don't have those emotes.
