It shouldn't influence it. I made increase the range for XP if people think it's not large enough. I thought it would be.

Yeah, it seems you can no longer AE animals after someone attacked them.

Linelle

Done the dock barrows quest (forgot the name) and Lucinda's Rescue, each working as it should except that I got neither a quest completion update nor experience upon finishing.
Never was the one who took the quest in the first place, always was added, but I was also present when the quest got turned in. I could talk to the NPC for the same dialogue over and over, but no update. Experience reward may have been removed for all I know (I did not follow the latest changes too closely), but I was just wondering why the journal wouldn't update right.
Am I supposed to do this differently?

Blake the Boar

I experienced the same when added by the quest tool. Sounds like a pattern.

Is there a particular way to enter the name of a character to get set ally to work?  I get a message that there is no such person.  The character name is a two word name, like "Bob Jones".

Ommadawn

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but my character was watching (from stealth of course) a cave bear and ogre bandit beat each other up. The bear won and I got an experience point for the kill!

Blake the Boar

You've learned wild bear techniques of Ogre killing!

Mort

Is that a problem? <_< I can remove it if its' a problem ... but tbh, there is not much difference between watching a bear maul an ogre and watching your party warrior maul an ogre.

with the new party system, someone who was accidentally set on Full Damage subdual mode...when they became 'confused' and began attacking other party members, they victim party member was slain and fugued. Under the old system  you couldn't kill your party mates, only 'sparring' them to 1hp.

This unfortunate event happened during the harpies quest at the end.

I know there is a command to 'ally' with people, but perhaps this command to be scripted to be applied AUTOMATICALLY to any who join a quest either by proximity to the Questgiver or when the quest token is used and accepted by the invited player.

The fallen player was under the impression it was a pvp kill, despite no one setting anyone else to hostile.

Summary (since I wrote this as a thought flow)

1.) Have the 'ally' command automatically execute on anyone that is added to a quest party, either by questgiver proxmity or by the quest token (upon the invited player accepting the invite)

2.) If any 'ally' in the party executes the 'hostile all' or 'hostile ' commands either through the Player menu or though the /c command, 'ally' mode is cancelled, exp is ceased and standard FD/Subdual/Spar mode is applied as in pvp.

3.) #2 is so that in-party ambushes can still occur, but can be done in a legitimate manner, but avoids accidental killing while Confused, Charmed or other mind altering effect is active.

Also, what if the party leader (in possession of the quest token) perma's or crashes in such a way that he cannot re-enter the game or his dead body cannot be reached, will the questgiver allow the remaining party members to close the quest? Either to abandon it or complete it?

I ask because the quest token cannot dropped, traded, or put in a pouch and thus cannot be transferred to anyone else.

I didn't think it was much of an issue (at was only one experience point after all) but just wanted to make sure you DM's were aware of it.

That is false. Even under the old system you could fugue your party members if you were on Full Damage Mode.

Verybigliar

Yes, I have seen and I have been fugued while being under confusion. And I have also been subdued, most of the time luckily.

djspectre

I didn't know that.

Guess I always kept my character on sparring....and so did everyone else.

ExileStrife

I think some people are over-emphasizing the use of ally.  It is only a tool for making people NOT hostile to you if you ever plan on using /c hostile all.  That's it.  Nothing more.  Most people don't even try going after pvp so they have no need to type /c hostile all.  Which means you never need to use /c ally.

As for the confusion thing, I would honestly make it so you are forced into FD mode in a heartbeat (if the other DMs would let me).  It's so dumb and boring to be under the effect of confusion and have absolutely no worry that you might potentially kill your teammate.  If NPCs are under the effect of confusion, they don't get that luxury!

You are confused.  You should not be able to avoid accidentally killing a friend because you are confused.
