Seriously guys, The new updates done by Mort are fucking amazing. The quest system is working fine, and its makes for far more immersive gameplay.

Indead of a long /rant about why you guys needs to stop bitching when something is changed though, i have one thing to say.

THANK YOU.

I haven't really used this yet, but, from the sound of it, long live the DMs for making this work. FINALLY, REAL QUEST IMMERSION.

Thanks.

I still say it sucks until my ban is lifted and I can rock this shit out.

Winston Martin

Should have been a forum ban as well.

Damn straight.

When I first read about the update, I actually said "Wow" out loud.
The amount of work it must have taken to pull this much awesome out of the bag really threw me.

Anyway, the point is I'm hell of impressed with the whole thing.

Mort has to be making money out of this somehow...

I had the exact same reaction.
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

The new changes are great though, yes.

Cruzel

I think it's cool they have implemented so many things recently they  have previously said they would never add.

I am impressed!

Edit ; I am more impressed this time that they took this drastic of a step when there are other solutions (slightly) easier to implement that would not fuck up tons of other systems and still accomplish what we have now with the lastest update.. But it seems to be working out, so Meh.

Just had my first quest with the new system, and it is amazing..old instincts went to look at the map, glance up to check party health etc *shrugs*(ye without sin cast the first stone!) as I was facing down a pack of wolves alone. ...and I was alone! No idea where others were, or even if they were alive. It was awesome! Thanks Mort!... 'Risers, then new city skin, and now this full emersion!  Christmass in July!

Caddies

Shut up Cruzel. We're all tired of the 'yes but I know more' BS.

Get a new shtick!

BTW, rockin' additions.

I've already expressed my feelings to people in IRC, as well as Mort privately.  However, I'll post them here as well.

I really like the new system.  Before I attempted to use the new system, I had some reservations when it came to healing and such... but having actually done several quests with the system I have to say that it is not as big of a problem as I first thought it'd be.  In fact, so long as you stay together, it is a non-issue.

In the few quests I have done, RP has increased DRAMATICALLY.  Like, seriously.  In the last quest I did, there were some who rushed, but they quickly found themselves up ahead and surrounded as the rest of the group didn't follow.  It made them look reckless... which makes sense ICly.

My groups stayed together, very close together.  We used scouts.  We RPed during and after combat.  In the end, my enjoyment of questing has increased at least five fold.

Sure, there are a few bugs but they will be worked out shortly.  Also, it is a bit strange having used group for so long.  When heading out to quest, I constantly find myself looking for the portraits on the right hand side of the NWN window.  It makes me feel somewhat "naked" and alone.  I'm just used to seeing them there when heading out with a group to quest.  I also found myself opening the mini map several times, expecting to see my group displayed on it when someone fell behind.  Only to, of course, see nothing.

Also, thanks to the new system, I've seen someone take a RP bathroom break after getting left behind.  Which led to some interesting banter on the return trip back. >_>

Dwarf PC:  "Did it slide out alright back there, lass?  It took ye awhile."
Female Human PC:  "[Turns a bright shade of red.]"

'Nuff said.
