Stargazers

As most of you know, the stargazers are a special subrace of halflings created specially for the EfU setting.  They have a unique and interesting culture, which has recently been fleshed out in a neat description of the various tribes on in the Archipelago.

This faction could really use an influx of players willing to try out this fun yet challenging PC subrace.  With a few more players there is quite a bit more that could be done, including plots/storylines that already exist IG that center around the stargazers.  Interaction with druids, rangers, elves is frequent.  I will also point out that druids have quite a bit of stealth gear IG that is easily accessible to this class if you choose to go that route.

But particularly needed are melee based classes as most of the current PCs are caster classes.  This means a melee character will be in no short supply of support.  Barbs, rangers, fighters, melee rogues/bards/clerics/druids are all badly needed at this time.  

Who wouldn't like to play a L8 Bear Tribe barbarian pwning the leering half orc with his two handed....rapier?  Or a naked yet fully buffed Panther Tribe ranger with human as favored enemy taking out the human in full plate/shield/bastard sword with his finessed twin kukris!

FYI the favored class of stargazers is still rogues, as the halfling skin still predominates.

As the base of the stargazers isn't in the safest area, stealth capability or dependable way to become invisible is recommended at startup.

Stargazers has indeed been a lot of fun.  Right now we've got a dynamic rivalry with a well supported Major Faction that could go in any direction as well as the beginnings of several interesting storylines.

As Gwydion said, recently there were several updates to Stargazer info, provided by Sternhund and Howlando, that have provided more depth to who these people are.

So give one a try!  We do need some melee types, because we have plenty of casters.

Whilst I'm not actually a halfling, I've got a human PC who'd be very, very interested in the group and would probably fit in fairly well, after a while gaining trust. How could I go about finding this group?

I'd like to generate a resurgence in this race/concept/faction.

Plum and I are both working towards awesomeness (Plum is getting there, and I still have a long way to go...)  and we would love to get some other PCs to RP, explore, quest and rock the server with.

There is a budding plot that can be pursued that could forever change the relationship of the stargazers to the zig and the humans on the server.  Or...it may not happen it all.

It's up to us!

Please make a stargazer of any build or concept and join us.  Guaranteed early support and help in your character development from Plum and myself.

DMs have said that applications for stargazers will nearly always be approved unless they are ridiculously weak or unreasonable.

PM me if you are seriously considering making one and would like more background information about the gazers and/or a hint at what Plum and I might be doing.

I do support the making of stargazers.  Possible greatness in the future.  Be apart of it or be against it, major fun is sure to follow in creation of these little guys.  They have a rich history and many perks and also allow you to see another side of the server.  Please PM me on the forums or IRC if you want help with an idea or an application.

OOC information about stargazers is rare. How can one know about the stargazers to make one? How many tribes are there? What are the names of the tribe? What's the history and what are common stargazer names? Do all the tribes live in starwood? Why do they eat their dead?

The FOIG does not answer that. Is it expected to make a non-stargazer character to learn it all, so one knows enough to make a stargazer?
