So I found this free browser based game. After bringing the addiction that was Urban Dead to EfU, I thought I'd try it again.

The cool thing about THIS is that you can build up to 24-player teams to conquer the globe. I am not of the mind to spend hours pouring over all the info with a dedicated team who actually spends MONEY on the game in order to win, but I do think it could be fun to raise a little hell with anyone interested in learning how the game works and taking over continents for kicks and giggles.

Try it out, and let me know if you're interested. I hope to get a group of us going for when the Mars map comes out (they're using Earth right now, Mars comes out in a few days or so). The game only takes 15 minutes a day, can be played in any browser, is actually fun to play (unlike KoC and those other bullshit browser games) and... yea, that's about all I can think of. Post here if you want in.

Lascivious

Sure, I'm game. Sounds like fun.

Garem

Bump. Surely there's more interest than just the two of us! Either way, feel free to catch me in IRC Lasc, and I advise you to jump into the game to get a feel for how things work.

Lascivious

Definitely don't have IRC, which seems to be really bad for someone on this server.

Garem

It helps! mIRC best

THE EVIL CURSED THREAD NECROMANCY STRIKES AGAIN!

Anywayyy, stumbling across this it looks like it's kinda fun. Anyone interested in joining in a bit of conquering and lulz?

Garem

I hate to piss in your cornflakes, but this game is only fun for a little while. Because some players can, and do, pay RL money to get significantly more resources, it is extraordinarily difficult to thrive in the early stages of the game; by the late stages, their ability to produce so outperforms everyone else that it becomes a positive exponential growth issue.

That aside, unless you have ample amounts of free time to log in at random hours to make sure nobody is bullrushing your colony while you sleep... well, it took a LOT of my time, stopping between every class at the computer labs on campus just to check on things and time everything perfectly. Which is also required in order to succeed at the game.

That's all the negative about it bundled up in a nice package of "fuck this". I'll grant you, I was having fun for the first few weeks I played it. It was after that when things started to drag and I realized the futility of competing with people who had more time and money than I did.

Darn. It sounded fun too! Are there any other cool browser games? If Urban Dead allowed for more than 50 action points per day I'd totally be down for that.

Well, I'd totally be down for it anyway if there's no alternative.

Kotenku

Interest is lost at "free browser game".

Sternhund

Well okay, I'd be down for anything short, interesting, and cute. >_>

My thoughts exactly. After my little 3-month-sucking experience with runescape, i havent played any MMORPG, and stay away from most MMO free browser based games too.

Ocrack though got me adicted. It's fun, but holy shit, when you are at your friend's party worrying about being fleetcrashed, you know the game is bad for you. That is about the only semi-intreting browser based game i know, the rest are just clicking buttons and seeing the numbers go up.
