Level 10's should be able to do Orcs Part-1

As it says, they should be able to do it imo. The quest difficulty can scale just like Part 2, the reward is not going to mean anything getting unbalanced.

Would be happy for the xp reward to be tiny for a 10 as per Lizards/Orcs Part 2, even smaller if required.

I can't always be on long enough to do lizards or one of the other lvl 10 quests (and i am sure i am not alone in that). So having a do-able slightly shorter quest would be good.

I am not keen for this to degenerate into what lvl 10's "should" be or do, suffice to say whilst i love loads of elements of the server, I will admit i like questing every now and again, and this would allow me, with my present PC, to do so a little more than I am able to atm.

Or by L10 you could stop questing and try and make an impact on the server another way? Just an idea!

Germain

I think Orcs Part 1 is perfectly reasonable to be capped out where it is.  As it stands there are multiple quests available for level 10 PCs.

Wasn't this exact same request made a while ago and shot down similarly?

The issue of "don't quest do other things at lvl 10" has plagued these debates.

To be clear i am absolutely supportive of the idea that higher level PC's should try to "add" to the server, I know I do my best to.

Thats cool.

However. Why should they not be able to do any quests other than longer ones, we certainly had a couple shorter higher level quests in the UD? That is all i am suggesting.

Germain - Quite right there are other quests, but they are longer than most (lizards, orcs part 2, sunken enclave). This means unless you have +2 hours of unbroken gaming time (which i and others rarely do) you will struggle to quest at all.

Its no massive issue its just hey, questing is fun, just trying to suggest spreading the love to those who have higher level PC's and relatively limited time.

Behemoth

Blow some shit up RP.

Winston Martin

While smashing monstars is great I think the issue is the DM team does not want an easy and quick way for lvl 10 characters to gain xp.

artfuldodger99

At the risk of repeating myself... even if this were to be implemented my (and many peoples high level PC's) would still spend 95% of the time RPing, organising events, plotted, getting rich whatever.

Regarding the xp reward/leveling thing. Put the xp reward to 0xp.

Mort

The issue is level 10 breaking the quest by making it too easy. I'm considering lowering wild orc to max 8 already....as it is not very challenging to most level 9s.

artfuldodger99

OK well maybe not Orcs 1, if that can't work.

Is the suggestion of one maybe even two shorter higher level quests exactly as we had in the UD a no go?

Winston Martin

If you just want to smash monsters and don't care about xp then organize trips to claim the mines or jungle cat hunting party or the many wilderness @s that go up with each reset.

OrchardOfMines

Lizardfolk allows lvl 10s.

Behemoth

As said: Leave it how it is. lv10s are meant to RP, not to spam one quest so they can become even more powerful.

Runic Saga

Er, Doisur, as a PC is making an impact with all his business stuff, and he's involved in both organisational RP and occasional patrols with the Dwarves to smash monsters out of an area we've claimed.

It would be nice however if he could come along on some of the non-epic quests. Hitting L10, if you ever make it with a PC shouldn't require you to turn into a politician or merchant. THere should be some quests you can to for fun and for supplies. Yes, supplies. You're gonna use them in server invasions etc.

I know, I have had a L10 PC for a while, only a day (spiced to death) but it got me thinking "now what? I can't do the non-epic quests, and I don't want to pointlessly crush wilds spawns.

Things are better with the random events, but just one short, fun LX-10 quest to rock out on would be cool.

Caddies

I definitely support one or two L10 quests that don't take at least two hours to complete, even if they gave no XP. Sometimes it is hard to keep a cashflow going for RP projects without being able to quest.
