NwN isn't working, halp.

[Diagnosis]

So every time I go into combat, my entire computer pretty much freezes. Everything goes to Not Responding, and it takes about two to six minutes for stuff to start working again.
I don't have this problem any other time, or with any other program; it's only when Neverwinter Nights starts fighting.

Unless someone can suggest how to fix this, I'm going to end up unable to play.

Have you wiped and re-installed NwN?

In my experience, this doesn't help to fix a lot of problems, but I ask so I can get a gauge of how serious the problem is.

If formatting your hard drive also doesn't work, you might have a problem that is potentially hardware related.

But, also, if you're running on an OS that has a system restore function, use that to as far back as you can.

One time, I had this weird problem with NWN where uninstall and reinstalling it didn't work, formatting the hard drive didn't work either, but using system restore did for some strange reason.
