A monastic opportunity

While I've had the privilege to meet and encounter a heap of awesome PCs, some even which seeking RP of training and to improve their own characters based on their knowledge of my PCs and my pursuits there's a certain degree of which only a real monk can portray the fun of being a monk. Given my PC's endeavors I'd like to make an opportunity for anyone looking for a PC to join me in my hijinks and adventures or even take things further and potential rivalry.

Because of my PC's philosophy your alignment can be LG, LE, or LN. He has no over-arching goals regarding any particular alignment style pursuit and despite being an Ordinant he is quite hands off in the day to day affairs of both the Society and Sanctuary. Though a PC in either is potentially possible, still to be involved. Furthermore your PC need not be Ascetic if you've some hesitation about an application or otherwise. A Vanilla monk can lead to just as much fun if not moreso in certain situations.

As my PC has low charisma I've no intention of ever forming some kind of "MONASTIC SCHOOL" but I've had the privileged opportunity of interacting and conflicting in one form or another with over 12 PC and DM factions in one form or another over my many weeks playing the PC.  So if you've never played a monk and are interested in getting your hands dirty or if you're an experienced player just looking for a new spin on the class, feel free to hit me up on IRC or send a forum PM or just roll up a PC and keep an eye out for me ICly.


And simply because people become so ingrained in monastic philosophy I'll reiterate: My PC is more than happy to help anyone who is good, evil, or in between. His interest in other monks I have encountered ICly has been one which was purely academic and one of pushing physical limits. Good, bad, he doesn't care what you do with the training once acquired. This doesn't need to simply be a TOADY/LACKY, though if someone is interested in a henchman style role being given plots and goals to pursue I'd be glad to help in that capacity.

This is primarily an effort to keep my longer-than-usual lasting PC interesting by adding in another wrinkle of Master/Apprentice or rivalry in his various monk enterprises. He has defied monstrous figures, powerful cults, undead servitors, and more in his pursuit of simply traveling as he wishes and pushing his limits to become the strongest. The largest part of Monastic RP though in my opinion is still the pursuit of philosophic disciples, learning and debating, arguments and conflict of ideas as only rival or apprentice monks can help a PC such as mine pursue.

Potential styles: Pacifistic seeking strength to survive, Combative seeking to conquer, Assassin, Bodyguard for hire of influencial Sanctuary PCs seeking training, Political Manipulator, Auxiliary seeking to survive the Machine, Dendar Cultist seeking the death of all gods, Mourner of the Elves seeking to transcend existence. The list could go on and on but the point is the same: Monks of any type are welcomed.

If a more charismatic monk had any interest in such efforts my PC could easily fill the role of secluded master of a monastic collective as we tried to make a more MONK styled effort on EFU. Or if you had something darker in mind I could fill the roll of a  shady vizier giving counsel as a secondary support and training.  Though my playtime is sporadic I've been able to cultivate ties to a number of long lasting PCs and despite my PC's low profile in matters of politics and otherwise he moves in many circles and can be an asset to any monk who is more politically inclined. Overall I'm looking for a PC (Or more than one) who is interested in playing up the many aspects of the Monk class which are so often overlooked in EFU. Philosophy, combat training, walking the earth like Kane from Kung Fu, double-dragon showdowns with man and beast alike! All the while debating and arguing philosophies as BLOOD RIVALS in cruel competition or pursuing the master/apprentice style of teaching other monks how to survive in the world if they submit to his teachings.
