The "Urband Legends" edition[/u], By Kero Rahlst

As an Author I often believe some of the finest works are those of rumor and the public. It is amazing what can be done by one rumor, and what can be done by one rumor dipped in facts. This is to be a collection of articles discussing both current events as well as current legends and rumors of creatures and beasts around the settlement.

The Rat's out of the bag[/u]
Rats are a common nuisance of vermin. Often diseased, often causing trouble, and often spoiling food and ruining a generally pleasant colony. At the same time however some would say they offer a much needed service as scavengers. Regardless of your choice, opinion, and views on the matter, the situation is clear.

As one citizen stated, "The House of Sharboneth needs to purchase some dagnab Cats! This is the second time in a few months! Its getting ridiculous!", in regards to the reccent Lycanthrope attack upon the tower.

For those of you who do not recall, some time ago it was rumored that the Targan Warblades (As mentioned in my previous piece), were stolen by a Wererat from the Governor's tower.

Only a few months later, it seems that Lycanthropes once more are plaguing the settlement. Some went as far as to state that the Pawtrician was kept around on hand to keep these beasts at bay, and in her absence we can expect more Rat-related burgles.

While little has been released in terms of actual anouncement, there is ample speculation and reports circulating amongst the populace. Some say it was four Wererats and a Werebadger that snuck in and freed prisoners. Others say it was an assassination attempt and such is why a RUBY Was nearly killed by a Wererat.

Numerous Retainers and Stygian infantrymen could be seen lurking about the colony on rat hunts, and-[Story continued on page three]

The Sewer Nuisances[/i]

The Sewers are home to numerous creatures and beasts. Two in particular have come to light of late. One, a Cannibalistic half orc feasting upon adventurers, and the second a fork-tongued creature of shadow by the name of "The Dream stalker". There have been reports by the Retainers, as well as claims by various witnesses, but little in terms of hard evidence that many of the public have seen.

If either of these alleged "Creatures" would be interested in ending these rumors, Leave word at the Touch of Class for Kero Rahlst for an interview to help clear the air, or to pass a message onto the populace in our next issue.

Jobs[/b][/i]
The following areas are ripe for the picking, should you be short on coin:

• There is a rather horrid smelling Barrow in the Docks district
• The Sharboneth Guard will no doubt be in need of men, should the conflict with the 900 brothers continue to persist
• A new Tavern is opening in the Docks. I'd imagine they would welcome work
• There hasn't been any Adventuring groups for some time. A fellow could get hefty support for such if they performed well enough
• Rumors have spread that the Order needs assistance in combating the night riser menace.
• Or, if you would be interested, Rahlst Publications is always welcoming new talent

The Blackest Veil[/b][/i]
An alleged "Counter-Court", or "Black Court" serving as a conglomerate of criminals from all aspects of the spectrum. Ranging from Muggings to Assassination to Ritual Sacrifice. The Blackest Veil is said to be edging its way into many corners of the Colony, after recent upheaval drove them out of Old Port.

(Story continued from page one, The Rat's out of the bag)

They say that it may have been the same individual, if you can call a Lycanthrope an individual, but others have claimed that there is a new "Big cheese" working in various capacities of the garbage heap that is Gobsquat that attracts oh so many rats. Sitings of both oversized rats as well as Lycanthropes in the sewers have lead to numerous concerned citizens making reports, one Sharboneth guard states, and a Styigan is quoted as saying that steps are being taken to possibly purge the Sewers with Oil.

Regardless of the rhyme or reason, the Rat-Lycanthrope population has caught many people's attention. Not once, but twice, in breaking into the Governor's tower, as well as leaving a substantial impact upon the face of a Ruby.

All I can say is that if someone sold silver weapons, I imagine numerous individuals from all walks of life would frequent that place of business.
