Somewhat misleadingly, it actually casts restoration, not remove curse.

Could we perhaps change the text to make it more clear?

Restoration heals "level drain," which is usually dealt by powerful necromantic spells.

Make Restoration cure curses.  It's a powerful and rare spell, It would be appropriate!

Wouldn't that make the Withering have less an impact? For all two players.

Restoration is a terribly high spell and could be scripted to deduct experience like remove curse does.

As I say, maybe just make it read "Can you purge me of a drain on my soul caused by strong necromantic energies" - which would be alot more obvious to what it does,
