After discussing things with a few PCs we've noticed a sharp decline in the opportunity of sizable dangerous and at times suicidal Permadeath quests. The warning of "//This may be a permadeath event" used to send shivers down the spines of adventurers and draw allusions to grand treasures. Some though chose the coward's path and missed their shot at glory.

While sometimes these events go horribly awry at times they vault PCS who were rather unconsidered into high prominence just by merit of taking risk. Other times it offered a great retirement opportunity to a long lasting PC seeking one last ride.

Sometimes it's a big fight, other times it's a mad wizard with a quest, occasionally it's a Faction only pursuit. Sometimes there's even a kick-down-drag-out fight amongst many PCS as a result of many factions as a result of some of these quests if some hugely coveted relic by many DM factions surfaces.

If they're going on and we've just been not hearing about them by all means keep it up.

Otherwise I think there's merit on a server like EFU to have the kind of events where PC's have a chance to "Go big or go home" and it can factor into a lot of matters in EFU's stability. Namely it decreases it which I always feel is a great thing.

Waking up one morning to find seven+ new obituary threads leads to a lot of "Oh man what kind of awesome shit went down last night I gotta learn more" kind of moments.

While also we appreacite these events, it tends to turn into a fest of massive amount of people, a lot of very vocal feedback from those people that at times die an unfortunate death (Not all by any means but it's still enough to cause a good deal of headache) and on top of it all, as you mentioned, everyone expects grand treasures and rewards of very personalized loot or something amazing. When in most cases in big groups, only small part would actually in truth earn such and rest maybe something far more lighter.

Such events also require a lot of organizing and planning, as we don't take them lightly either. They usually have big things we want to do. We will surely take into account the notion as we remember it again, but I simply want to bring up the reasons why the at times come in waves, and at times it may again be a good while before any comes up.

Players affect everything with how they act and behave. Whether it's our will to run DM stuff for them, or what type of things we want to run. We're empirical animals. We learn through association.
