For a lot of the wild quests, I think it would be neat if you could end it on a different part of the island then you began it. Through this manner you could spray a number of quests on trails.

Listen in Silence

The alternative to retrace your steps through the QA should remain, however. Otherwise, it seems like a neat idea.

Agreed! Arabel's caravan system has this, and it adds a lot. Of course, sometimes you just book it back to town, usually at night when they ogres come out to play, but it's still a good plan. More exploration!

Ommadawn

Ah, reminds me of the old portal quest in the canal/Lower. More please!

Secutor

Or the portals at the end of Seers. That was always good fun (providing you didn't already know OOC which took you straight to Sanctuary).

Sounds cool, would love to see this IG.

One did? I think I've never gone into one of those portals. Not that I've done it very often.

9lives

We changed it so that they were random at some point, I think.

Cruzel

I can see people complaining that they get crushed at night because some quest that was 1 area away from the zig took them 12 areas away, and they died getting back due to nighttime spawns.

I like the idea, but I think the whining factor is also something to consider!

AKMatt

Obviously, this can be tightly controlled to maximize fun, Cruzel.  Not every quest requires it, but putting it on a few quests would indeed be very cool.

ExileStrife

I always changed the sanctuary portal to go someplace dangerous.

Semli

Provided the distance involved was somewhat on par with the reward/difficulty of the quest, I think it seems like a cool idea.

DangerousDan

i walked one morning to the fair

Letsplayforfun

I LOLed first, imagining a quest train go round the island like one does a golf course, but aside from this, it sounds neat.
