Repeatable Workmill resource quest?

It's stated in some background lore that the Workmill is (or was) heavily reliant on scrap metal scavenged from the Machine or around the Underdark itself. Would it be desirable, then, to implement a resource gathering quest similar to turning in rothe meat, animatron parts, and baublium? I figure the gnomish foreman would work well as the taker of these resources.

There are several "metal" items in game right now that would satisfy the requirements, I think, though the pay out (XP and coin) shouldn't be much more than what you'd get for worm meat at low levels. Might be a good, flavorful way for scrappers or Machine delvers to get on their feet, rather than the same ho-hum worm meat scavenging.

A few coins here and there would not be too bad - I'm also for all of the "repeatable" quests of this nature (animatron parts, rothe meat, etc) not becoming unusable after level 7, but simply not providing XP so players can still use it to get some gold income

In a similar vein (ha ha), I think it would be awesome if we could implement things like mineral resources in the Underdark that people with the mining skill and maybe a pickaxe or something could work on and bring back to the Workmill/a Lower NPC/Mur/etc. for money. Ideally the resources would have a limit to how much they can be mined per reset and would be in vulnerable/exposed areas for conflict and murderbanditry.

I bet that another gathering mini quest for the Sanctuary would be kind of a bit of over emphasis into the main hub of the server (so many quests already available). Still, I agree that it would be cool to give some mechanical representation of this sort of thing. Because of that, I think that some other road should be taken, even if my creativity doesn't offer it now.

I suggest reading/ directing to this regarding the implementation of mining around the server.

Something to do with crystals and copper veins would be cool. I'm working ICly on trying to do something that Sanctuary citizens could involve themselves in that is similar to the idea. Melting down random machine junk and spare wires and broken metal scrap. It's just slow going rp.
