Hey,

A few of us from EfU have started playing Shadowrun, using Obsidian Portal and Roll20.  We hope to grow the scale of the game in the same sort of 'persistent campaign' style with a breadth of PCs and multiple GMs.

The idea is that a GM could announce a adventure (or a run, if you will) and whoever is available to play would join that run, just as Shadowrunners would respond to a call put out by a Mr. Johnson.

If we can get it rolling, with several GMs, I think we can develop a metaplot to go along with the disparate Shadowrun jobs.

Anyhow,check it out here:

If you are inclined to join in, make an Obsidian Portal account and respond here with the account name.

How welcoming is 5th ed to Beginners? I've always been interested in SR but never played. What resources should we have to start?

It's no more or less difficult than most of the other editions.  It can get a bit dice intensive.

I should also note that it will be played over Google Hangouts using Roll20 natively within.

So voice and video (voice required, video optional) and real time tabletop style gaming.

Haven't played shadowrun in several editions so I have a lot of catching up to do on the ruleset though.
