I am giving an outline of a faction I thought up and I hope to Apply to make this a Canon Organization. I am looking for advice on the faction, and we won't be entering anytime soon as I hammer out problems and inconsistencies in the history and hierarchy of the faction. This is just an Overview of the faction, and is rather long.

Overview:

QuoteThe Hands of the White Glove are a Fanatical group of Jergali who evolved from the joining of two groups, The Companions of the Pallid Mask and the Hands of Jergal, both of which ancient records speak of. As the two groups slowly evolved into one, both philosophies merging, the remaining members joined forces in an effort to regain the Powers that Jergal once had. Once Ultra Conservative, they denied the fact that Myrkul was the Lord of the Dead, Denied Bhaal was the Lord of Murder, and Denied Bane the Lord of Strife. They believed that Jergal still held all three portfolios.

QuoteHowever, as time progressed, a charismatic leader in the faction, Leverius Lecivic emerged and changed the way they should approach their goal. They switched philosophies after the time of troubles during when Cyric Held the title of Lord of the Dead and Murder, and Xvim held Strife. They preached that Cyric didn't uphold the duties that Myrkul and Bhaal once upheld perfectly as was dictated by Lord Jergal, and Xvim, the Godson of bane, didn't know what the heck he was doing. They urged the populace to pray to Jergal to regain his former Status in order to end the Chaos that the three opposing deities were causing, saying, and I quote from the Dogma of Jergal, "Seek to bring order in the Chaos of Life." Believing that the actions of Cyric were of Chaos, and the Lord Jergal disapproved (which is true) of his actions, the Hands of the White glove preached that, "would it not be better if the Hand of Murder was destroyed, the Lord of Tyranny dethroned, and the Judge of the Damned, new and inexperienced, was done away with, and the Lord Jergal re-ascended to his rightful place before Netheril?"

QuoteAs the portfolio's continued to switch and change, and the deities continued to breed chaos, they grew sterner in their belief saying that if this continued, that the world would dissolve into chaos and their would be those who will perish before their appointed times. So the White Glove switched from a group of evangelicals to a group of Crusaders. Hunting down the undead, agents of Cyric, Bane, and undead cultists. They attempt to convert Myrkulites, and Kelemvor, saying that Lord Jergal is the only deity who can full fill the tenets of all the said portfolios.

QuoteDespite being a heretical faction, the group upholds the tenets that Jergal demands of them. They keep accurate lists of the dead, and virtually have a traveling library, of the lists of the dead and the dates upon which they died and the Deities they served. The reason they come to the Ziggurat is that they heard of an isle with a Temple of jergal, one that was built during the pinnacle of Jergal's power. They come here believing that the Lord Jergal preserved this temple, for them to expand and preach the word of his return to power.

QuoteThe Hands of the White Glove is a very old group. As time went on, they gradually forgot (conveniently) that Jergal once held Undeath, Tyranny, and the undead. They're primary interest lies in that they wish to see Jergal retake his rightful place in the Pantheon. However, evil elements in the cult retained this knowledge and wish to see that Jergal is given back his rightful title of, "King of the Walking Dead." The neutral and good elements of the faction will oppose this if given the opportunity. Giving raise to inter-faction conflict.

QuoteThe Oath of the White Glove:

I Am the child of death, cowled in rags of time. My appointed time in life is destined for greatness and glory in service . I accept the tides of change, yet reject the chaos that comes as it ebbs. I am the Child of the Scribe of Doom. I am ever present, ever omniscient, for I foresee your doom. I am the child of the Lord of the End of Everything. The undead are beings of chaos, I shall fight them whenever Ican, and serve those who have given to eternal duty. I serve the Lord Jergal in his ever foreseen wisdom. I am the Child of Doom. I will seek bring order to this unruly world and Aid the Lord Jergal as he seeks to reascend his Throne of Bone. I serve the King of the Dead. I am his Knights, his Mouth, and his Scythe. I am the Knights of Death itself.

QuoteHierarchy:

Dusklord: Leads the White Glove. The Title originates from the fact Jergal once held the portfolio of Dusk. Current Holder, Leverius Lecivic. More on this later, but to summarize his main task to ensure the continuation and expansion of the heresy.

Reaper: Oversees the Localized groups of the White Glove. Based on merit and ability. Clerics often hold position, but not always. Has Authority over everyone, and all tasks. His word is law unless it goes against the Dusklord's or Lord Jergal's precepts. Reapers differ in opinions often, but cannot strike against each other without the DuskLord's approval.

Undertaker: Oversees the funerary works of the group. Finalizes and Edits the Lists of the dead that members report. Holds command over Scribes and Scythe Hands.

DoomScribe: Works at Gathering names for the Lists of the Dead. Usually Monks. They specialize in hand to hand combat or dual wielding Kama's. Sometimes multi into ranger.

Scythe Hand: Warriors of the White Glove. Specialize in combating undead, they prefer the weapon Scythe, but can work with any. Any fighter Class, but Paladin.

Holy Blade of the Glove: (Holy Scythe for Short) Paladins of the White Glove- Elite Group, can over-rule any but the Reaper. They are usually small in number, and pride themselves in the ability to detect evil and special blessings against undead. They often multiclass into rangers.

Dark Souls: Wizards and Sorcerers. Usually Necromancers, accompany the Scythe Hands into battle. Specializing in fighting undead, and use their knowledge to aid in battles against said foes. Independent of all but the Holy Blades and Reaper, they usually are given freedom of position in battle. Often wield negative energies against living foes.

QuoteOutline of the faction:

    1) Jergal is about to reclaim the Portfolios he once held, Death, The Dead, and Strife for the current deities are unable to uphold the requirements of the duties said tenets required.

    2) The Undead are agents of Chaos, unless they are in the service of Jergal, and must be destroyed regardless of the purposes they were made for.

    3) The Conversion of the followers of Kelemovor and Myrkul are paramount, and the destruction of the Clergy of Bane and Cyric are a must, as the two faiths breed chaos in this world.

    4) The Return of the Clergy of Jergal, no longer shall we be forgotten scribes working in the Crypts of Forgotten tongues, we shall set out to regain the status we once held.

    5) We do not fear death. For we will all die at our appointed time that Jergal has set for us. We will combat those who seek to disrupt the clock of death and ensure all life will die when it is meant to.

    6) We are Guardians of the Dead. We will claim all the forgotten tombs and defend them from robbers and worse, those that seek to steal from the dead deserve no mercy.

    7) any actions against the White Glove are actions against Jergal. To be dealt without mercy.

8 ) Kelemvor shall be either be slain by the Lord Jergal in his claim to the Throne, or made to be the Servant of Jergal, to uphold the duties that Jergal himself upheld in the Crystal Spire, keeping the records of the dead.

    9) Bane and Cyric Shall be destroyed.

    10) The Lord Jergal shall once again rule Strife, The Dead, and Death.
Faction Alignments: Non Chaotic. (Paladins are welcomed, but we warn you! You might work with Eb0l)

Deity: Jergal (Or secret deities, Cyrists, banites, etc...who hide their faith to undermine the faction)

Concepts: Any as long as it remains non chaotic and doesn't openly oppose the goals of the faction.

Thoughts?

Added a Small update, giving raise to potential Inter-faction conflict.

UnholyWon

Actually from everything I've read Jergal is quite pleased with the work Kelemvor is doing. In the past has had numerous times to reclaim the portfolio pieces, and has not acted on any one of those occassions.

I've also read that Jergal is ready to pass off his portfolio, now that he has found a suitable replacement, so he can pass on into the afterlife.

I know EFU:A is non-canon, but its hard for me to make sense of this idea for a new faction. Even if they are extreme cultists.

We're rather conservative, and I wanted to give back Jergal an old flair he had. It isn't that we're displeased with Kelemvor or such and such, we're nursing old wounds to our pride (which lasted over 4000 years!) that we're rather miffed that Jergal is no longer the top dog. Yes, Jergal doesn't want all this back, and is quite complacent about his position, favoring the drudgery he now has to work with than ruling. It's his followers that wish to regain Jergal's status so that they are the top dog once more, and everyone respects them. We're just playing off Jergal.

xD, I am working on the faction as a side job. To make it a canon organization I want more lore on it than the Harpers!

I need to work on the Oath a Bit, any ideas?

Also, btw, if you're interested, PM me if you want some more info pertaining to suggested alignments, and more detailed history.

Note: This group won't be entering the game for a good month. So If you awant an entire month to flesh out a character, be my guest! I already am fleshing mine out for this group.

Thomas_Not_very_wise

Due to the impatience of some members, you can enter whenever you wish. However, It is best to Inform me before entering to detail your concept. This way I can make suggestions as to what you can improve on.

Also, If you wish to make a cleric, run it by the DM's, they are still unsure whether they are legit or not.
