My recollection of events.

Apothar Azimi and I went to the Krak des Roses, as we suspected something was being done to our rooms in retaliation by Mirielle Rosseau. We arrived to find our rooms barricaded and guarded by a member of the Banda Rossa.

We were surrounded and threatened by members of the Banda Rossa, named above. Apothar Estellise was frightened and hid behind me, asking for wards. I provided them, and tried to calm her, as they threatened Kythaela.

"Seventeen", said the male Condottiero.

Azimi asked Seventeen what.

Condottiero Paolina Capuano said, "That is how many minutes your precious Kythaela will last after Mae Stern is made Warmaster."

The Capitana said: "There will be consequences for this, Apothar. But it's not too late to turn back."

Azimi began panicking and gave them the contract they wanted.

I tried to stop her, taking the contract and urging Azimi to slow down and not panic or be intimidated.

Paolina then stabbed me without warning.

I woke, feeling the knife being pulled from my gut. I tried to leave, the male Condottiero held me back. Louis d'Armagnac, I believe is his name. I was restrained, and the contract taken from me.

I said they were debasing themselves, and they replied: "It is because we make the blood of sweet little Modini girls flow all over the floor."

Capitana ordered Mirielle to summon Dante. She did so, on the bellows.

I once again tried to leave, and was once again restrained.

Acolyte Seriyah arrived at this time, and saw what was occurring. She asked if I needed medical aid, and Condottiero d'Armagnac ordered her not to touch me. She relented.

Dante arrived, and asked why I was in this state.

At this point, the Banda Rossa made some statements. "You have made a number of errors", the Capitana said to Dante. Mirielle followed with, "She is learning an important lesson."

Capitana: "These errors will be rectified."

I said this was political violence, Azimi said he could imagine what this was regarding. Capitana replied: "Yes. What do I truly need to say, Legate? We both understand the situation."

Other witnesses began to arrive.

Milo Skifwright, I think, was the first.

Dante asked if a citizen was going to be murdered in front of him.

Mirielle told the gathering witnesses to step back.

Dante asked for an explanation of why I was hurt and remarked upon my being held.

The Capitana claimed that I had nearly fainted at the sight of my barricaded room, and that the Condottiero "unfortunately had a knife out".

Dante stated that it looked like I would bleed out if I did not receive medical attention.

Capitana replied, "Yes. Now, Legate. I believe you've made a number of mistakes yourself."

Dante asked Apothar Azimi for a bandage to help me, she said she did not have one.

The Capitana said, "When these are rectified, we may look to rectifying our own mistakes."

They continued, "Legate. Your last chance to look at me, Dante," as Dante was looking at me.

The Capitana continued, "Was business with the Banda Rossa truly so unprofitable? This contract is as thin as air."

Dante said he was trying to subtly as Azimi for the contract back, and she stated that they already took it. He answered, "Then it is welcomed to be burned, and there will not be another."

Mirielle produced a parchment and they asked for Dante to swear it, then wrote a contract for him to sign, and gave it to him. Its title was something like "Fixing Mistakes".

While she was writing it, another witness, Waterbearer Zahira appeared. She said I needed treatment and asked if I was going to be left to bleed on the floor. I remember Solina was there.

Mirielle told her to "calm yourself, uninvolved bystander. This business will be finished soon."

Dante and Azimi argued a bit. Apothar Azimi stated, "A shame the Sisters and I will be voting for the League of /White/ this election."

I once again tried to get free. I tried to pull away, but Condottiero Louis held tight and kept me forcefully restrained.

Linlett Longhands told the crowd to step back. Waterbearer Zahira, bravely, said no, and told her to strike her down if she truly felt it was right.

Dante asked that I be allowed to wait in our room until it was concluded.

At this point Durgin arrived. He observed. There was some issue with the drafting of the contract, Mirielle was told to hurry up, and finally started writing properly.

Mirielle drafted the contract near me. I saw some of its writing. 'By signing, Dante Moretti hearby agrees that by his signature Rosseau will not be removed as Warmaster, he will not see her removed from her position'. Something like that.

I continued to be forcefully held down.

They showed Dante the contract, he requested it include the promise that I not come to harm or have any "accidents".

The Capitana agreed, and she said something like, "Apothar Azimi, you may even heal her - once".

Apothar Azimi tried to tell me to relax, that this was for my own good. I said to her, that I did not want to be a hostage.

Mirielle answered more loudly, "It is too late, Fiordelise, you already are! You might as well relax and enjoy the ride, oui?"

I spoke to the crowd, said that this is what the Rose do now, hold people hostage openly for political ambitions. None denied it. The Capitana only corrected me: "It is not the Rose. It is me."

Durgin, good man that he is, spoke: "Maybe I have grown too comfortable in your Krak, if y ou think I would not object to beating a woman to extract a contract out of a Legate".

Thank you, both of you.
