To Dante Moretti,

Enclosed is an update on my investigation of this Gloombuckle Gremlin, as promised.

I will keep you updated as the case progresses.

QuoteMy investigation began speaking with the Scribe Bashir whom I gleaned the following information from:
  • This gremlin is a fae, from "Fairyland" - seems unlikely a true name - similar to "Gregs" which are some sort of cricketfolk.
  • It likes to annoy people and has access to a wide variety of magic, including the "green hand" spell.
  • The gremlin is keen on eating gloombuckles, but has also been seen eating magic wands.

I then spent some time in the gutters looking for it myself, but was unsuccessful - though I did find a trail of worm carcass, indicating the magnitude of the creatures power.

In the conversation with Bashir, it was mentioned that the Acolyte Narwen could replicate the sounds of the gremlin, to which I asked her to demonstrate for me. You'll have to come find me if you wish to hear what it sounds like, I'm not sure I could replicate it in writing. Narwen shared the following as a first hand witness:
  • The gremlin is from the "Gloombuckle Factory," unknown location
  • A man named Banafsi Pete stole the Gloombuckles and it just wants them back
  • She named it Bucklebert, unsure if responsive to this name

During this conversation one of the Rosemen, Cashano, approached to give his encounter with the gremlin:
  • He was on expedition to the place of Black Ichor and they had found 3 Gloombuckles during the job
  • The gremlin appeared before them where the sapling fends away the Ichor, harassing them and demanding the Gloombuckles, stealing or destroying their earnings.
  • It then ran quickly down the mountain.

Sincerely,

Detective Olivia Lascari

Dante,

A perhaps insignificant update.

As I'm sure you saw, I spoke with the dwarf myself. I've earned some of his trust, yet he remains suspicious and bound to a code of honor. As far as the initial request goes, I can only confirm it was indeed the Balladeers - a cadre at that according to his own words.

However, perhaps more interesting: it is not merely vengeance the dwarf is after. Something far greater and likely more sinister. He spoke with great fervor, but was careful in not revealing details of his plot.

I will continue in my pursuit for more details.

We should speak soon,

Detective Olivia Lascari
