QuoteTreatment Plan

General Care:
Patient should rest as much as possible. Movement can worsen the injury.
Be vigilant for signs of systemic infection (sepsis), such as fever, chills, rapid breathing and confusion.
Monitor for signs of shock: pale skin, weakness, rapid pulse.
Provide ample fluids and nutritious food.
Keep on hand willow bark for chewing and for tea. Chamomile tea optional.
Keep the area meticulously clean and free of disease.

Regular infusions of healing prayer. The patient may benefit from soaking in soothing starlight, both for healing purposes and for their own mental wellbeing as an Astronomer.

Morning:
Cleaning of bandages, and the burn wounds themselves, each morning. Only boiled and cooled water. Do not scrub the burn, rinse it gently. Use cloth soaked in antiseptic solution to complete the cleaning.
Reapply full antiseptics, including honey and aloe vera.
Change bandages.

Midday Check:
Inspect the burn for any signs of infection (redness, swelling, warmth, pus, foul order) and the patient for fever or weakness.
Replace the bandaging if needed. Ensure the patient is comfortable and the area is clean.

Evening:
Clean the bandages once more, per prior instructions. Reapply antiseptics and new bandages.

Observations:
Slow pulse.
No fever.
Body is covered in third degree burns. Black, white, charred, leathery. It is extensive.
Hunched form, slurred speech, trouble breathing.
Extensive disfigurement by burning.

[A diagram is drawn of where the burns are located, with shading to indicate degree.]

Patient is in good spirits, recovery outlook is promising. Could not convince him to lay down for long.
