Scribe Bashir and Apothar Mae Stern,

I write to you both on the matter of seeking a second Magistrate for myself. After a talk with the Hakam and some deliberation we reached the conclusion that either one of you could perform these duties.

I know however that both of you are preoccupied with your other projects, but as we can tell there have not been a lot of cases that needed a Magistrate's attention.

Both of you have qualities that I believe would make you appropriate Magistrates, and as such I would ask both of you whether you are interested in this position.

Write back to me with your responses, thoughts, or conditions.

Live and drink,

Legate Marcellus Saenus

Fabulous Secret Powers

Legate Saenus,

I must unfortunately decline the position, due to the following reasons:

1. I have many labors already! I am in charge of the Scribal uniforms and keys, I run a tailoring studio, I have to make a lot of important announcements, I have to interview new Scribes... I also make strategically important textile goods for the Seat of Logistics! And now I'm Princess Shaimela's personal correspondent in all things related to the war! I also have to write my weekly, incredibly popular and known-by-all newspaper column, Babbling with Bashir, where I mostly review delicious food, and cute animals that I've met!

2. Trials take so long, and my cat, Tonka, has quite the appetite, so, if I miss feeding her, she will most likely starve if there's a flurry of trials one after the other... I can't take her to the Hall of Jurisprudence, because she has misog misophonia, and she's terribly terrified of whispered quips, which she can't help but hear because of her feline ears!

3. There's also the fact that I am not educated in the law! I have a vocational diploma for tailoring from the Dapper Lad Vocational College. Oh, and of course, my Scribal diploma, from a school. Neither degree covered jurisprudence, unfortunately.

4. I'm also painfully allergic to legal mold, which isn't a mold that is specifically legal, because that describes most molds, but rather it is a mold that tends to gather in courtrooms, law schools and so forth. I can handle the amount of exposure I get as a court reporter, but I surely would come face to face with the accursed fungus far more as a Magistrate!

If I may suggest more suitable individuals, my recommendations are Samton (as long as the case does not involve food), Sephidra (if she's still alive) or Lyse Espivant (I don't know who this is, but they have a fancy name, so they're probably really smart).
