Dearest friend,

I regret we've not had a moment for tea in some time.  Things have been more or less calm in the Tower.  A lot of laboratory work left undone, now being dusted off.

I thought of you while I was breaking my fast on a dish of eggs (Quail, if you believe it) and  rather sumptuous goat cheese.  It cost me a pretty penny, but an Apothar's wages are generous enough that from time to time we can enjoy an indulgence or two.

Speaking of indulgence, have you tried the makdous here? A very Baz'eeli sort of thing, eggplant stuffed with peppers and something a bit chewy.  I found the experience of beginning the day with a bit of spice both bracing and invigorating!

The Nadiri who I tasked with delivering this was given a few of these spicy delights for you to try.  Let me know if he's swiped them or lost them.

I dearly hope you've been enjoying meals as delicious as I have, and that you're doing well.

No great business, no tragedy to speak of simply,

Wishing you Well,
-Oscar K.

Oscar,

It always pleases me to hear from you. I see your Apothar's salary affords you some comfort indeed. All is well, I confess, in the Pyramid, for the time being. The Tlonsiyyans wish machinists for our envoy and perhaps Mae or yourself might join the delegation. It would certainly be wise.

I have heard some interesting remarks about the Narwen Psion situation I would like to soon discuss, perhaps over tea and eggs. I haven't yet tried the makdous, most often my own breakfast is a cinnamon bun and a small pot of chai.

I hope this letter finds you well,
Domhnall

Dear Domhnall,

Today I had a very interesting dish.  A minced eel pie of (I was led to believe) Modini provenance.  It tasted very savory, but also a bit sweet toward the middle?  Very strange, but not totally unpleasant.  Washed down with some of that blue wine the Ashfolk brew in Baz'eel, as well.  I liked to imagine my plate and table became a kind of model of the future, with two foreign delicacies intermingling happily.

Hope you've not been neglecting your palate.

There was a small observation I wished to make known regarding our plans to convey water to this new district of yours.  Although Master Stern's work is impeccable and wondrous, have you considered that the people of the Well might convey water to their new homes via the magic of... jugs?

We could also teach them the secret arts of bowl-making as well.

Judiciously yours,
-Apothar O. Kreutz

Oscar,

I am in talks with Sandstone regarding historical water reserves of the Orentid era, and indeed whether they can be tapped or re-routed for our purposes. Perhaps the Tower could complete the far simpler task of engineering a pump to begin to empty these old supplies.

I have had little time to eat, I admit. I missed the many delicacies offered at the Feast of B'aara, as my arrival hailed its end. Somewhat disappointing, but such is life from time to time.

Sincerely,
Domhnall
