[Inside this package are two letters, send from Windy Caravan outpost by a paid man, toward Il Modo. The first one, just under a thin layer of package, is adressed to Ernesto Est. The other one, perfumed, is adressed only to person titled "P."

Dear Ernesto,
I hope this letter finds you well - please know that our journey was safe and that we have returned home unharmed. Thank you again for your invitation. We hope you enjoy our gifts as much as your colleagues at Lamp of Learning. While I am writing to you to share good news, there is a favour I would like to ask of you... you see, during our short stay in Il Modo, I was deeply charmed by one of the students, as we follow the knowledge of the disc - you should know of whom I speak. I hope you will be able to pass this letter on to her, my friend. I wish you all the best and hope that the lecture proved to be adequate.

Healer.

[The other letter, sealed with simple sort of wax seal - seemingly a symbol of Izdu pressed into wax. It is perfumed with nice smelling desert rose variety of flavour. On the cover there is simple writing "To P."]

Dear P,
Since our meeting at the Lamp of Learning, I have been thinking about your words and the wisdom about them. One must always reflect, for to reflect is to be human. One cannot stand alone against the tides of time. One always needs allies, friends and even family. So I hope you won't dismiss my feelings for you.

There are strange developments ahead. I think the rest of my fellow students like you, but as always, appearances can be deceiving. I sincerely hope they will see the wisdom of your words and in time come to regard you as a friend, as I hope to do - even more so. The beautiful canals of Il Modo are a truly breathtaking sight and I hope to see them again.

Our journey back, however, was a truly terrifying experience. A Leviathan of steel and iron rose from the water and cast its red eye at us, blinking and searching. However, its side seemed to be damaged and burned, like by some magic or weapon and it was not damage I would take lightly. I had seen something like this before, when I met the Qa'imi Eyes, spying on the desert. Blue flames of light, looking at humans, perhaps remembering them. The Eyes spit storms and flames at those who would harm them. What's strange, though, is what Sergeant Fauchard told me - it's not the first time this has happened! Apparently they were harassed in the same way on their way back. Is Leviathan looking for someone *leaving* Il Modo who is also connected to the Well? Strange thought, truly strange. But you should be careful if you ever want to visit the Well. I am told that Qa'imi are already confirmed to be present within, by the same man, no less.

Even more curious is the accident I heard about in Banafsi. Some say it was a civil war, others say it was just an accident with fireworks during a celebration. The other day I heard about a wagon being transported through the Well - while some Nadiri shouted 'a bomb', but that is absurd. Why would Jannisaries need a bomb?

Fire is a dangerous thing, really. The other day, just as we were getting into our caravan for our trip to Il Modo, I saw a group of Jannisaries, mingled with curious company: Alejandro (the famous balladeer, poet and author of many arts, here in the fountain. I am sure you have heard of him and I implore you to read his works!) and Apothar Cosine, great lawyer and defender of rights and enemy of the powers from beyond our disc. They looked as if they had had a close encounter - and a long one, seeing how tired they were - with some kind of fire... and at that time? I must say, I am intrigued.

But such things are beyond me, unfortunately. Who can know what sits in the shadows of the night and the blinding rays of the sun? Our talk about poetry, however, has made me nostalgic for certain works and books. You asked me for a list when we spoke, and I am happy to provide it:

Alliance of Roses by Thoram of Dusk
Waiting and Waning by Leonardo
Attacking the Keeps by Sathul Vishe
Insects of Ash Desert by Leopold of Kula (I am a biologist, after all)
Thrones by Jamilco
Murderer of Crows by Golar the Bookeeper.
Order and Chaos by Muhammed ibn Galu
Roars against Injustice - of author unknown.
Elleander by Miza Virru
Astronomy of Baz'eelian School by Academy Authors
Lions of Orienid - Essay by Student Porton
Legends and Dares of Mercenary Companies by Chronicler Croaker
Yshtevan, the Dark Hand by Liothe Cross-the-Rings

I sincerely hope that these books and texts will prove worthy of your time and that you will let me know what thoughts and feelings they arouse in you, dear friend. I can't wait for our next meeting in the colours and lights of your wonderful home, may the Dome protect you.

Yours,
The Healer

Ps. While I was talking to my fellow student Jamileh, she read me a truly curious fragment of ancient lore - I am curious to know what you think of it. Personally, I think that ancient wisdom is worth exploring, but it's not always good - you always have to decide what to make of it. That is the duty of the younger generations.

[Here is the excerpt of mentioned text - as it is IC text which may be of spoilerish nature, I will share it with any DM that would like to take a look at it, with possible mistakes during to writing it from PC's memory.]

Dear Healer,

My congratulations on your talk and thank you for coming to visit us. I will see that the other letter reaches its intended recipient. I must caution you that it is whispered she is in the favor of another, but I am sure she will enjoy your recommended reading list.

My best,
Ernesto
