Esteemed Fellows of the College,


I am overjoyed that your doors are opened at last to the barbarians of the waste that they may study and learn under the auspices of the Father of Wisdom, Izdu.  Among these new students, there is one among them whom shines particularly bright, perhaps even worthy already of being declared fellow for her accomplishments.

Her name is Portia, though she now goes by the pseudonym "Sparrow" to protect herself on the sands.  She is without a doubt, the most accomplished archaeologist among the wasteland refugees and her knowledge of the Old Caliphate and the history of the the Basin itself is unmatched by any I have met and discussed the topic with.

She is a fine scholar and deserving of the accolades those of the Balladeers of the Lost Hearth did not give her to recognize her work. This is my humble recommendation, and hope it is warmly received.

The letter finds its way to Curator Celik, who blinks at it briefly, uses it to mop up a wine spill on a priceless Baz'eeli carpet, and then promptly forgets it altogether.

Later that night, awakening from what was intended as a brief nap atop a pile of packing material, he mutters to himself.... "Sparrow, Sparrow, Sparrow".... before deciding he needs another drink to sharpen up.
