Isotta,

I have done as asked and set Murphy on an information gathering mission of political import. The woman told to me that she had issues in social situations prior,  and did not fully understand politics, so I figured that getting her to meet with each of the other candidates and get for me the number of signatures upon their petitions without telling her why would both be advantageous to both me and her. I am happy to report that she performed promptly, and efficiently, and only failed the task in it's full completion due to Monteglas being off likely drinking himself to death somewhere.

Not fair to hold that against her, I think.

She did, however, appraise me of the closely fought battle between Sephidra and Isabelle for the soul of the Purple League, and even find out from others how many signatures they suspected I had in pocket as well. A simple enough intelligence gathering task, but one that I imagine that you might have a wet behind the ears Recluta perform yourself.

She has a soldier's work ethic, but it may fall to you lot to sharpen her skills further.

By my eye, she is eager to learn.

Isotta uses a knife to roughly separate a large pile of Dirt into smaller portions upon a table, using the arrival of the letter as a brief respite from her preparations.  Sunken eyes lined with crows feet scan the words, and she gives her usual "Mmn" grunt and rips a segment of empty parchment off the bottom to pen a short reply:

Was hoping it would buy me a few days of peace from the chirpings of potential Recluta, but they're always thrown in my lap for some reason. If they managed to pull you away from election matters long enough to write such a letter, they must not be entirely worthless.

Owe you a drink, or maybe a round at the glaziers.

A sealed missive arrives, written in a steady and familiar cursive handwriting.

QuoteIsotta,

I spent a few good weeks shaping that little sand castle you tried to kick down today, boasting on the Bellows.

What are we doing here, my friend? I thought we were building something here.

Normally we prove to be graceful dance partners, yes? I ill like it when we step on each-other's feet.

Let us speak soon, so that we can get on the level. On this and other matters.

A half-sheet of parchment is returned, written in a precise script that lacks any flourish. It smells vaguely of cigarette ash if read soon enough

Lynneth,

If the College is trying to build something of a bridge to that little oasis, you should advise them that a meek, frightened rabbit should not squeek and flop about whilst wolves sniff about for prey to fill their bellies. Shutting one's mouth and remaining hidden does wonders for ensuring the weaker beast's survival.

I'll find you. We're due a game of cards and a few cups of rosewine.
