Can we either make these indestructible or deactivate their effects upon destruction? Not having a visual indicator of the danger is unfairly deadly to anyone who is either new or simply isn't well-versed in their locations. It seems silly that something so dangerous wouldn't have any hint of the danger.

They are appearing randomly now I believe, so this is ever more important.  Simply make them plot.

Don't hurt Ceres' red mushroomfriends! Feed them lots of mammals and let them grow big and strong.
