Upcoming Maintenance by Hosting Provider

The purpose of this thread is to notify the EFU community of upcoming maintenance by the company that provides us with hosting services.

One of our upstream providers will be performing maintenance on one of its routers between 1am EDT and 2am EDT on Oct 19. This maintenance may cause brief periods of connectivity loss or increased latency for some clients to your service.

On Friday, July 31, between 2am and 5am EDT, we will be taking down our router in NYC to replace one of its interface cards. We expect for this to cause approximately a 15-45 minute network outage for this location, during which time all services will be unreachable.

This work is part of an upgrade to double our capacity there. Later in the day, we will be activating new 40G links, which we expect to be a seamless process that will not require downtime, though it may need to brief routing reconvergence -- that should occur shortly after 2pm EDT.
