Paladin ability to destroy evil items

Evil items are fairly common in the loot table and it generally doesn't make sense for a paladin to leave "fiendish contracts" and "swirling baubles of evil" lying around for others to find.  At the same time, it kind of feels weird to just toss them in a magical trash barrel (ICly I might think, where could this "trash" end up?).

What I propose is simple; a player tool given to paladins and perhaps good aligned clerics to destroy evil items, sort of like the option clerics get for relics.  A token XP reward would be neat but honestly I mainly would like a way to dispose of evil items in a sensible manner IC.

Perhaps tie in the paladin's EFUSS Consecration score/check so more powerful evil items are not destroyed or disposed of  easily?

I guess the same could go for goodly stuff? It would be nice to be able to permanently corrupt something holy... But not destroying, desecrating... Leaving a mark
