After having done this quest several times now and facing rediculous odds each time, I can honestly say this quest needs to be looked at. Specifically the amount of war trolls it spawns.

These creatures are extremely strong and they absolutely murder unbuffed people. Also in previous verisons of the quest there have been creatures that dispel you, these creatures were balanced by having low HP and were somewhat easy to reach. The recent AI changes to some of the casters in this quest have you being dispelled repeatedly by monsters which run away from you with high HP, making the entire process of taking the quest feel like a bad experience.

Please take a look at the spawns extremely high AB/Damage/HP and the amount they're appearing in. This isn't mentioning the boss that often bugs out with infinite spells.

There is a reason no one I can think of wants to do this quest and I'm sure it's to do with it's difficulty.

Grouch

While I did get wasted a couple weeks ago by the hag hasting herself then dropping like 6 icestorms on my head..

I kind of like the quest as it is, but I will comment that the first fight going in is brutal and that War Trolls need bigger collision sizes. They are massive and there are a ton of them for bigger groups but it seems like eight of the buggers can surround one dude.
Things will never be the same (I've applied too much ketchup to this hamburger)

I really like this quest as it.

EfU has a tradition of QAs that span the spectrum of easy-to-hard, and this is definately at the hard end. But that is not a bad thing as such.

If something needs to be changed, I would fiddle the loot table to make it a bit more rewarding, because the loot is mostly underwealming for the risk and cost.

This quest is not new, it's always been challenging.  I like that some quests are just harder than other.

Hautevillee

I definitely agree it's hard and should remain so but I also think the loot/reward should be increased to make it more appealing. Plus there seems a 50/50 chance of the boss absolutely destroying you or not really doing much.

Cruzel

I dunno. I went into it the other day with a party of just frontliners and the only buffs we had was str/mw and it went pretty smooth?  Half our party didn't even have flame weapon on them.

Half the time I've found this quest, people just puss out and go "Nah I dont want to fight trolls" but it doesn't seem that bad to me?

Providence

Like with most quests, the scaling is what really makes it hard. This quest is almost easy (barring crits and sometimes the boss)  for a small group of experienced players and becomes harder and harder the larger your party is (mainly because it's tough to find 8 highly experienced players on at the same time.)

I think it's fine as is, and would just caution you against taking the maximum amount of people on it unless you have a lot of confidence.

Stranger

I once defeated a bugged version of this quest where the final boss casted 23 ice storms on my party and summoned endless hordes of monsters.

My only reward was feeling like a badass.

But it's definitely a very hard quest, dangerous, and taxing on resources. It is also hidden in an uncertain explorable. I would prefer to give it a more lucrative reward rather than make it easier.
