Suggested changes to gold strongboxes

I really like the choice to include these strongboxes (or whatever they're called) in quests to avoid the natural rewards that come to smaller, optimized parties and instead give more to larger groups. However, I feel like the implementation could use a bit of work. It seems that these rely entirely on a strength calculation based on the surrounding party members, but I have been on a quest twice with a nearly max party where we were not able to successfully open the chests. Something based on party size rather than the strength of the party seems like it would be preferable to this, especially since it seems to be designed with the EFU:R "meta" in mind. The strength check demands a melee centric party composition and assumes a liberal use of Bull's Strength.

Isn't this already how it works? I don't think strength comes into it...

As far as I know there's no strength check. It just requires X amount of people to be standing within very close proximity to the chest. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for  the chest to register there's enough people near it.

I think maybe these could be reworked though from the way they worked in v4?   In v4, they were a once/reset thing, so only the first party who did the quest would get the extra rewards. I saw more than a few times parties  trying to form up ASAP after a reset to run crankforges and whatnot.

I think ideally, these would reset between quest uses.

And ideally, the chests themselves would just contain a gold range appropriate to party, rather than an all-or-nothing approach.

So say for example a 2 man group procs the chest and gets a random range from 80-200,  3 people might get  120-250, up to like 8 people getting 500-800 (Since most quests in v4 rewarded around 90-150/person)?  Maybe a bonus to people with plunder or treasure hunter perks.

The number ranges can vary per quest, but I think a system that rewards every group is ideal!

Awkward. The ones we encountered might have been bugged. I'll report it if it happens again.

Bacon_Cheese_Burger

I have noticed that these boxes are always empty in the new modul. Dunno if it was fixed.

That is because for whatever reason they never refill once looted until the server resets.

Howlando

It's a bug.

It's been fixed.

However, unfortunately I need to fix them manually - so it's likely I missed some.

If you come upon any [Reinforced Chest of Gold] that doesn't reset from each quest attempt, please let me know.
