Ibrandulan Druids

I suggest that we allow druids to adhere to Ibrandul as their underdark nature deity. It just makes sense to me, if we also have such one-sided nature aspect deities as Talona (disease), the elemental gods, Ulutiu (Far as I can tell, the ice-version of Ibrandul)... etcetera.
Lemme know what you think?

Pup

This makes sense on it's face, as the god has the portfolio of caverns, but as it's OOCly an aspect (or whatever) of Shar now, I'm not sure she could claim any druidic power as she is about the end of everything.  Oblivion.  Though I suppose that may be natural in a philosophical sense.  Though it still seems antithetical.

An interesting question.  I'm still torn.
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

Pretty sure it's not confirmed as EFU cannon as to whether or not Shar actually is Ibrandul.

To Pup, I initially wondered at that, too, but as far as I have seen, everything on this forum that has anything to do with the alleged connection between Shar and Ibrandul OOCly has suggested that, for all intents and purposes Ibrandul is still alive and well.

Beyond that, I did consider this heavily and on a personal note, I am very interested in playing an Ibrandulite druid for exactly that (possible) reason. Imagine! What happens, exactly, if my druid ever finds out through IG roleplay and such that Ibrandul is dead and Shar is wearing his face? Think of the recercussions that would have on him. Were his abilities ever really druidic? Would his loss of faith rob him of his power? Would he be able to hold his head together and focus on the Ibrandul that was, instead of rejecting the Ibrandul that is? I know it gets messy, but I think that a) it'll probably never even come up in the span of any EFU druid's life, and b) if it does, it'll only add to the tangled mess of awesome that is EFU:Revelations

(See what I did there at the end? With Revelations? XD I can't help myself :) )

App for it. I am sure the Dms will consider it closely, as they have approved druids of Uthgar before.

^That's the plan.... if I don't get a hearing on the suggestion. Which is to say, it really depends on if the team considers something like this needful of an app, or if they decide Ibrandul should just be given the green light for nature, as per my suggestion.

John Doe

Ibrandul is dead. Instead, Shar secretly answers prayers to Ibrandul under pretence. So for all intends and purposes,  consider Ibrandul to be alive from a character and goal forming perspective. This cannon detail also goes for EFU iirc from years ago.

No PC has knowledge about this unless found out in game / applied for it etc. It is not something you can assume as known because you're a high priest of Shar / Ibrandul for instance, or for any other reason.

As for the OP: I have no idea! I'd app.

Knight Of Pentacles

Druids can draw their power from wild nature and still be faithful to the gods.  Druids being deity dependent has always seemed silly to me.

granny

even if it's shar trully behind the plot, nothing would stop the druid from getting powers if ibrandul were once a druid deity.

... if he is not granting powers to the druids must be for other more shadier reasons.

I would app for a druid of Ibrandul if I were truly interested on the concept although, and I would close my eyes to the Sharran concern.

It'd be better if these things were not even talked in public forums, even if it surely is some manner of public knowledge.

Once more I feel I got to keep repeating the most simplest of points. This is a suggestion, not discussion topic. Read the guidelines people, or I will really have to start limiting access to this forum. We come to check suggestions, not walls of text or discussion. We'll just skip everything but the actual suggestions and looking for other good points is growing more annoying with the amount of posts.

Howlando

The canon idea that Ibrandul has been replaced by Shar has no relevance in EFU for all intents and purposes.

As in EFU:R we've decided that "nature" is essentially the power source for druidic blessings, it is acceptable to play a druid that reveres Ibrandul (it may be necessary to put Silvanus in the deity field).
