Being a slaver was super fun. My first real group concept and all the members of the Mut-Kabid clan made it a blast (also Wanch). Big thanks to Special, and BTH, who were there from the start. CD and Sopa who started out with us but RL called them away. Pup who joined us as our sassy mercenary clown, and everyone else who made being a tent city of scummy gypsy slavers such a big success. I've never played a slaver before but I've always wanted to, and I had a blast finally getting a chance to try and being moderately successful, even though I never got to see what's inside Sorrowfeast Island. The character changed a ton after his game of devil-dice, going from a wheezing cackling Walder Frey style gypsy patron, to a soulless glowing banana-man but it was a fun change.

I had a great time playing my banana-flavored gypsy and I hope you all had fun interacting with him.

We had a good long run, but we fought the law and the law won.

Brief History:
The Mut-Kabid family were once something like nobility in Zukhara five or six generations back. They lost their land for being assholes and got run out of town by angry commonfolk. So we wandered from town to town, setting up our tent city, and generally continuing to be a locust-like swarm of drunken, scamming, gypsy jerks until the settlements chased us off to find the next one. Dari's only goal was to find a place where his family could make a life for themselves (The little bar far too small for his extended family still working as poor Wormingers and beggars in Sanctuary), and ensure that the clan's generations of children could live a comfortable and prosperous life. Because Sanctuary's citizens were rude and worshiped the wrong gods in Zukharan culture they were barbarians, basically animals, and a great source of income!

SCREENIES!

Slave Auction 1:
A crazy fun time. While we were waiting for a scheduled raid on our lair we decided to risk taking a stroll around the wilderness to pass the time waiting by trying to capture some slaves and having an auction. We came upon Caraz the Blue and politely informed him he was a barbarian and was going to be sold as property to help fund the Mut-Kabid's enlightened home. Surprisingly, and terrifyingly, our 7 on 1 fight took forever. He was one tough cookie, but we took him down and made our announcement. Our only allies, the Church of the Dragon, showed up to make some offers on their former bro.

Slave Auction 2:
A tg surprise when the forces of law and justice decided to make their raid on the slave auction to free Caraz! Thankfully with the aid of the evil scumbags who were trying to buy slaves we managed to survive the attack, and then held a much more impressive slave auction! This was definitely the point when I think the Mut-Kabid made our move from annoying nobodies to real slavers. A big thanks to everyone in the slave-pile for being so cool about the whole thing.

Magnatz Demands Slavez:
Magnats sends his chief Ragabagadagabagz to demand all our slaves as a tribute for selling slaves on his land. The family words of the Mut-Kabid are "Pride and Blood", and although we originally wanted to join Magnatz' side in the upcoming war we're a sassy troupe of gypsies who demand respect from everyone. We told him to get lost unless he was buying slaves.

Magnatz Don't Dick Around:
Magnats sends his buddies to explain how things work in his lands. We give them over a bunch of gold and blood as tribute to avoid being squeezed to death, but spiteful ol' Mut-Kabids resolve we're going to immediately offer to ally with the Baron of Mur and ride an army of beholders to smash apart the Mound. The ultimate goal being that the Baron of Mur would give the Mut-Kabid family custodianship of the coalmines and governance of the Mound in his name, and the family would finally have a home. Unfortunately the timing never worked out and we didn't end up getting to meet the Baron.

Ocean's 14:
Dari, being a charisma based rogue, was chosen out of a group of arrivals to convince or steal a golden comb from an extraplanar brothel by the Jeweled Tiger A perfect task for a scummy gypsy conman!
Here he is arriving at the brothel.

Meeting with the owner and making his offer. Lots of cool whores to look at.

Negotiations broke down, so Dari sneaks around until he finds the most heavily guarded locked door. He sneaks off, sets fire to a curtain, and waits for the guards to rush off. Then sneaks in!

After accidentally tripping a sound burst trap the House Madame is alerted (Oh no!) and she and her guards rush to stop Dari! But not before he picks a locked chest and find the comb. So he summons some distractions and bolts like a madman, running from a ton of these cool looking dudes and back through the portal with the comb in hand!

Dari has made it back!
Unfortunately for the Jeweled Tiger Dari has done one of these fetch-and-return things for her before, and knows that the reward isn't likely to be anywhere near as splendid as the comb. So he asks for his reward to be delivered in slaves and gold. When she refuses he does the only sensible thing for a gypsy scumbag to do- He runs with the treasure! Never trust a gypsy!
He sprints to a sending urchin, announces he'll be auctioning off the comb at the Bazaar, and makes a run for it. All the while being chased by the giant Jeweled Tiger! :O

She arrives to demand back her comb, but Dari's earned this comb fair and square as far as he's concerned. She's just some barbarian, and he did all the work. Time to make a profit!
Unfortunately she doesn't see it that way. Thankfully some folk start showing up for the auction and some Mut-Kabids log in to see what all the fuss is about.

The epic fight ensues! Lots of potions, supplies, and dead NPC allies later the Jeweled Tiger flees, defeated, and the comb is purchased by Herek the Hellcat for 8,000 gold coins! O.O
The original plan was to give it to the Baron of Mur for his alliance, but that's an offer too good to pass up. According to Jauhar "Wealthiness is godliness", and Dari is nothing if not a godly man.

The Execution:
During a slave trade gone wrong Dari and his family are captured. I always wanted him to go out at the hands of Johnny Law so this was a pretty good death for the scummiest gypsy slaver. I just wish I got to see the inside of Sorrowfeast and try making that deal with Mur. But when you take a bunch of risks you always have to expect an abrupt end, and I wouldn't have done any of it differently.

Here's Some Gold:
The peak of Dari's ill gotten gains were at 18,000, but here's what he had when he was captured.

Much love y'all! Thanks for all the fun!
<elmo>: i have to say for me your glory days have been on EFUR RagingPurpleGiant1

Kinslayer988

A blast as always. A great use of the lair system too! Sad I didn't get to have a real battle with the slavers
<SkillFocuspwn> no property developers among men only brothers

Voss

Despite it being a brief partnership I was lucky enough to be present during most of these highlights, both on Frogblast and Ozan.

Hope you had a blast with it, I sure did. See you on the next one.

MessengerGirl

Legitimately terrifying slaver!  After her attempt at breaking up the Bazaar, Hadley lost all confidence in herself.  Then you came to the Watchhouse and all I could do was tremble in the corner.  A truly terrifying villain!

[Naga]

Great characters. Glad I didn't mind blast them after all.

efuincarnate

You are the reason I got into EFU and it was absolutely awesome that I got to play with you finally. Thankyou for giving me an awesome time and putting up with my crazy ideas.
Feed me my kid cuisine meal, or I will say the F word.

if she's your girl then why does her leitmotif appear in my battle theme bro  :/

the law's the law ma'am

Lol it was great to have you in the server as Mut-Kabid slavers. Loved the concept, and Dari's stellar looks ofcourse.

Dina

Great characters all around, I enjoyed every interaction, even when captured and sold back to Sanctuary.  Very courteous in PVP.

Starstruck

Stellar concept, great execution, and one of the best examples of what can be done using the lair system and a little bit of elbow grease. It was great to be able to see bits and pieces throughout the rise and fall. Great job!

Pup

It was so much fun playing with the Mut-Kabid.  Fantastic, interesting character.  Well done, sir!
