I know a lot of the community likes to use IRC still but thought it would be nice if we had a more modern medium as well so went ahead and created a Discord channel; you can join it by clicking this link https://discord.gg/UyDGXwf

while I personally do like Discord, I feel like having two global communication solutions might split the community.

What I mean by this is that conversations that would keep a community alive in IRC might be held in discord, and vice versa, creating a kind of 'you have to be in both to get the full picture' situation.
