With the demise of many deities, we are excited about introducing a new class-kit modeled off of the cleric base class. No application is required.

Relic Guardians are those who don't depend on the direct patronage of a deity for their spell-casting abilities, but rather protect powerful (or less powerful) Relics of various kinds. Depending on the strength of the relic, Relic Guardians also receive the ability to channel divine spell-casting from the relics (and perhaps other perks).

QuoteRelic Guardian

With the silencing or destruction of many of the old deities and powers, there are those who have taken it upon themselves to guard and honor ancient relics and gain power from the vestiges of the divine that remain.

Features:
-Cleric Based Kit
-Do not receive spells directly from a deity, but must instead find and guard a "Relic Item" (of which there are many). When attuning to a Relic, the Guardian will be able to cast spells.
- Relics are either universal (suitable for all relic guardians), dm-concept specific, or sorted by domain (i.e. a Water themed relic can only be used by a PC that has the Water domain). In some cases domains overlap.
-Aside from the Guardian's level, the spell circle level of the Relic Guardian is determined by the Relic they guard.
-A Guardian may select a valid Deity, a non-responsive Deity, or a non-valid deity (similar to the Druids and Rangers). They may also choose to input a theme, philosophical concept, or setting-specific idea into their deity field. The chosen alignment and domains should still make sense with your concept; just like stats and skills should be roleplayed - your selected domains should be roleplayed and reflect the interests, ambitions, and focus of your character.
-The Relic Guardian may only be attuned to a single relic at a given time.
-Relic Attunement Player Tool - Once a day the Relic Guardian may attune to an appropriate Relic for her and will be able to use its abilities and powers.
-Relic Sacrifice Player Tool - Once a day the Relic Guardian may sacrifice or sanctify a Relic that they don't wish to keep permanently in order to receive XP.
- Other PCs can sell relics to NPCs for gold
- Relic guardians may freely multiclass, however remember that the more powerful Relics require a certain number of Relic Guardian (Cleric) levels to use. Typically, relic guardians can anticipate having a more difficult time with being able to cast high level cleric spells but will receive alternate abilities and perks to make up for it.

How to become a Relic Guardian:
In the starting area there's a placeable "Relic Guardian Configuration" where the PC's domains will be approved (or not approved if not appropriate), The PC needs to have a Primary Domain and a Secondary Domain. The PC will be tagged as a Relic Guardian, as well as receive a weak relic. The PC will need to rest / reset perk via Crafting Menu in order for the features to take effect.

Worth mentioning that the primary domains are also restricted by race and alignment:
- A human can't have the Dwarf domain, etc.
- A non evil aligned PC can't have the Evil domain, etc.

Non appropriate domains to the PC won't allow him to become a Relic Guardian.

Primary Domains (must select one)
Air, Death, Earth, Evil, Fire, Good, Water, Chaos, Law, Knowledge, Magic, Destruction, Drow, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, Gnome, Orc.

Secondary Domains (must select one):
Animal, Healing, Strength, Sun, Travel, Trickery, War, Luck, Ooze, Cavern, Darkness, Metal, Portal, Spider, Illusion, Spells, Reptilian, Undeath, SeaCaves, Renewal, Repose, Retribution, Rune, Storm, Suffering, Trade, Planning, Charm, Nobility, Fungus, Protection, Plant, Fate, Hatred.

The Relics
Different Relics, of different types and powers, may be found across the game-world, and may also be given by DMs. Some are mundane, some allow access to higher spell circles, some have powerful abilities, but at the cost of higher spell circles, etc. Relics may only be used by a Relic Guardian who is attuned to it - others won't be able to equip or use its abilities.

Players should be advised that the Planning Domain will soon no longer grant free extend spell feat.

Players should be advised that other domains may be adjusted and tweaked without warning or notice as we balance this.

Thanks to Tala for working hard to implement this!
