Unable to equip item - Dark Mushroom on a Stick

I found a "Dark Mushroom on a Stick" in the random quest "Fungi and Mushrooms" The item has restrictions which I meet but when I attempt to equip the item I get the "slot disabled" message. I've tested the item with someone else's PC who is the same class as me and it works fine.



EDIT: Upon further investigation it appears that either this item, another item or both are bugged or otherwise marked as something they are not/ marked to disable the wrong item. I have an item which disables helmets which in fact disables the "Moon on a Stick" or the stick is marked as a helmet, either way, I can't use both.
