Workmill clerk doesn't actually seem to buy any thing.

Offered him copper, silver and iron ore.  If it's a lvl thing maybe make it clearer.  No option I chose let me sell any of the ore I had found.  If there is a lvl limit it may want to be advertised at least a little.

NothingGoldCanStay

you put the items in the furnace.

EventHorizon

Which is, ah, to the left past the clerk, and then to the right where the TOTAL ARSEHOLE is.

Randall Tyree Mandersohn

I actually spoke with the clerk while the ore was in my inventory.  I only dropped it after because I didn't want the encumbrance drag.  If someone lower-lvl won, good for them.  But if I can't turn in ore I won't bother anymore.  Not sure what either of you is talking about....

EventHorizon

To be as clear as possible: In the Workmill, the round building in that corner of Upper Sanctuary, you enter in the only entrance. Then when you're inside the Workmill building, you walk left (clockwise) past the two named clerks, to where there's a furnace which has an openable inventory like a box - next to that furnace there is a another named NPC who is rather an asshole - you don't talk to any of the NPCs, but rather drop your scrap into the furnace container/inventory. This immediately destroys the item, causing the asshole NPC to make a comment (earning his title) and recording your "workmill favour/currency." Then you talk to the clerk NPC by the entrance to spend that currency for items.

I appreciate the sarcastic instruction, however my asking for it to be made more clear only stands stronger.

EventHorizon

...I am not being sarcastic. I do not know how how to more clearly help you other than to provide a screenshot. Which I can do, if you want.

Your desire is to turn in ore to the Workmill, right?

Then the only thing I can do is tell you to put it into the furnace - that's the actual purpose of the workmill, it's not a joke. It's there for scrapping.

...

I just realized that you might think we were being sarcastic because we're telling you to put ore into the furnace. Hahaha. That's seriously what you have to do though, strange as it sounds.

Edit: That said, I don't remember if the Workmill takes ore. Test it with a single copper ore and see if you get Favour points before you go incinerating all that silver and iron.

Bouquet of Roses

They're not actually being sarcastic.

The place to turn in the Ores isn't at the clerk, but you have to go past him, around the left, and into the middle of the area. There's an NPC there, who's an arse to everyone.
You place the ores in the furnace to get your workmill points!
It does indeed take ores.

Following EventHorizon's instructions verbatim:

There was no sarcam. If people are taking the time to post here, to help you out, it's generally not in their best interest to do so just to poke fun at the new guy.
