Windows 10 and EFU

Got the message I can update to 10 yesterday, ..I am hesitant for many reasons, but one of them being if EFU will run on it? (I no longer call it nwn, as EFU has clearly taken the platform over!)
Any advice/experience with 10 and the game or just general experiences with 10, are appreciated.

If you do the update, download it to USB and do it from there, dont do it directly from web. It is more stable this way. Afterwards if you are happy, good. Use windows disk cleaner tools and you can remove old windows folder fully, until you do, you will have an easy chance to revert back without any issues.

Nwn works even better than it did on 7 and 8 for me. Just remember to run stuff as admin, and during installation process do not accept any information sharing etc. Turn everything off so you can avoid having all the information sharing things of windows 10 on.

for some reason i just updated to windows 10 and its saying "this version of windows is not compatible with this app" and closes instantly.. anyone who can help me out? cant play until i get it fixed

Right click the shortcut of nwn, make sure you run it in compatibility mode for xp service pack 3 or something else, which ever might work. Run it as administrator as well.

tried it on all service packs, even the vista service packs and none of them were compatible with nwn for some reason on the compatibility modes, even ran as admin and it doesn't help

I mean, do you run it as admin by setting it from the shortcut properties, or by right clicking and selecting 'Run as Admin'.

XP service pack 3 should work, I've used it since start and haven't heard any issues from others using windows 10. It can work, something just ain't matching up there.

i do it by setting in the shortcut properties. and yeah it seems wierd, my friend who plays nwn has windows 10 and he gets it to run just fine, but for some reason on my new laptop its not working at all

You have actual admin account and permission to launch program as administrator, and the compatibility is set for sure? Because the compatibility setting should solve the issue with any older program in newer windows, that's why it was designed in the OS.

i do, but one of my friends fixed the issue for me, for some reason the source was not compatible with windows 10 (the disk download) so my friend downloaded it from another source via the internet and then installed my CD key and it seems to be working fine now, wierd

I seem to be having the same trouble getting it to run in windows 10 from the disk. Can you link me to source you downloaded from?

For what it is worth, was able to get it working once I installed patch 1.69
