EFU: new instalation problem

Hi I have new laptop with win8 (old haved winXP) well I new instaled NWN and downloaded efu laucher. I can log in and play but I cant go into some areas like House of Heroes 2.floor. I haved character with respawn there and if I tried play for him so whole game crashed. I must use old notebook to take character out from there and set new spawnpoint. I tried copy "override" from old laptop but it didnt helped anybody know what I need like cep etc?


+ I i have white some items in inventory and some items looks clearly diferend than before.
+ now I see some sanctuary watchers like hostile (they diont attack me but they are clearly red some are normally blue)
+ some NPC i see just head but not body etc

Hey.

First of all, run the nwn in admin mode, and preferably in old windows xp mode if possible. Then you best just install overrides all again or take exact copies from the old files, and remember to ensure you got all dialog.tlk or other stuff you had in old game, because just copy pasteing stuff is often a bit of a bad solution.

We also do not use CEP. Overrides are not required, they are just everyones personal skins or effects that show only for you, they are not much something we can help with.

Efu launcher should install and put haks to you but we currently only got head haks and tilesets, that are at separate areas, not in main hubs. You can try to use /c haks on  , when logging in and see if it has not done it so yet, though launcher should enable them automaticly. It still should not cause the problems you have, so I doubt that is it.

Next, go and try to set your nwnplayer config file and change CPU affinity to:
Client CPU Affinity=-2

A list to check:
- Newest graphic card drivers
- Check you updated nwn properly
- Ensure you do not have broken overrides, might be best to just delete all and go in with clean install first to see if that was the problem.

Well i did clean install and just downloaded efu laucher which instaled efu hack.
But its this clean install with which i have problems.
I will try just copy whole nwn folder from old laptop. It will take some while my old NWN folder have about 40gb and my old laptop have problems with procesor i will let know results tomorow.

I mean, did you actually do the proper 1.69 critical rebuild patch before trying to get in game and all that?

To me it all sounds you had some conflicting overrides or other things that caused visual problems. Make sure you are running it in admin mode and compability mode, because windows 8 itself does not support old games like nwn at all.

Well I instaled NWN patched at 1.69 and instaled efu laucher(efu laucher downloaded efu hacks etc) I runned game like administrator in mode XP,SP3 but i got this visuals errors. After it I tried copy just override from old NWN folder but it didnt helped too. How i writed i will try copy whole old NWN folder and run it from it. If it wont help = i have problems not with NWN but with win8.

One option is your graphic card.

If it's new notebook, it's drivers might be screwing with nwn.

Try to make sure none of the 3d graphic settings is set to "force" specific setting, instead let application decide the setting.

Looks like it was because this "clean instalation"  my old 45gb nwn folder works on win8 normally.
