You can edit your characters description in game if you've forgotten to do so or changes have happened to your character through the course of roleplay. Bear in mind that there is a 1,024 letter limit, including spaces and punctuations. If you have to exceed that then ensure you write it during character creation or ask a DM to copy and paste your intended description into your bio with Leto.

The journal help menu commands might be outdated. The following commands are how to use the description editing system. Quotes are used to identify the command line. The quotation marks should not be typed in game.

1) "/c desc set (text)" - This will set your basic description. Anything that you had written there previously will be lost forever. This will be the new standard and will replace your whole description.

2) "/c desc reset" - This will reset any changes you have made to your description. If you have only appended it, mentioned just below, then it will reset to the description you posted during character creation. If you used "/c desc set" then it will reset it to what you have written there.

3) "/c desc app" - This will append your description. It will add new details.

QuoteThis is my description. It is not very complete.
By typing "/c desc app Now it is." your description will become

QuoteThis is my description. It is not very complete. Now it is.
Notice how there is no space? You can't begin your appending with a space, but you can begin it with punctuation. A way to work around this would be to type:

"/c desc set This is my description"
Then enter, and then type
"/c desc app . It is not very complete. Now it is."

4) #NL# is a command equivalent to pressing the enter button. It can be used to create lines. Here is an example.

"/c desc set This is my description. It is not very complete."
"/c desc app #NL#"
"/c desc app #NL#
"/c desc app Now it is."

This will appear as

QuoteThis is my description. It is not very complete.

Now it is.
By using #NL# twice it drops down two lines and creates a gap. You could choose to only do it once, if desired, putting it directly below the line above.

Remember that you have a 1,024 character limit. This can go by very easily, so be careful to be concise! If you need more detail make sure you write out your description fully during character creation. You cannot further append a description if it would exceed this character limit so if you have made one that is larger during character creation the only way you can add to it is by removing the whole description. Make it count!

Just to add. You can write:

/c desc set This is my description.#NL##NL#It is not very complete.

And it will create:

This is my description.

It is not very completely.

You do not necessarily need to make them with separate appending.

Yeah it seems it's easiest just to replace your description, rather than append it.  /c desc < > (with a space between) Seems to return your original description, despite wording otherwise.  You can of course add whatever you want.

I suggest just rewriting your description rather than trying to adjust it.
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

Thank you for writing this! I had been wondering how to change my character's description for a while but didn't want to pester anyone in-game for an explanation.
