Intended to purely be a follower and scumbag mercenary, Rodagh Rotgut Ironwatch the Orc-Son ironically changed EFU the most out of any of my characters.

[hide="Bio"]
Name: Rodagh 'Rotgut' Orcson
Race: Half-Orc
Sex: Male
Age: 40
Class: Fighter (Sellsword)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Religion: Tempus
Theme-Song

Basic History: Born into the world most Half-Orcs are, the product of rape, Rodagh was swiftly abandoned by his Mother to a Helmite convent, who swiftly abandoned him to the wide world as soon as he was old enough to look after himself at the age of 12. Scraping by as a youth in a world that resented or hated him for his race, Young Rodagh focused his bitterness and hate on his unknown father figure. Starting out as an Adventurer, he would travel the length of the Swordcoast searching for his fathers identity, and at last corner and slay him in single combat in the Neverwinter frontier.

His lifes mission completed at the age of 17, Rodagh was confronted with just how empty he felt with his 'revenge' finally out of the way. He was still a half-orc, the world still despised him, and he had no future or prospects. His fathers small tribe wanted him to be their chief at first, but Rodagh was perceptive enough to see that only led to an early grave, nor was he particularly fond of his paternal ancestors, and he snuck out in the night.

Robbed of any idealistic notions of universal justice by his fate as a half-orc, or a meaning to his life with his fathers death, he took to soldiery - the one career that seemed to embrace him. He did well in the soldiery, working as a mercenary, taking the dirtier jobs that the clean-bloods didn't want, scratching out a decent life through sheer tenacity, underhanded ferocity, and cunning. He has survived to the ripe 'old' age of 40, nearing the end of his prime, before being brought to Ymph by fate.

Outlook: Jaded, boisterous, and cynical - Rodagh is the typical "Smart" mercenary. Old and canny enough to understand the inherit injustice and hypocrisy of the world, his only concern is earning enough money to retire before he's too old to swing a weapon anymore. He might be considered charismatic, were he not a halforc (base 12, -2 racial modifier = 10), and for one of his people he's damn near a genius (13 Int).

He values professionalism and discipline, belying his savage appearance. He's decidedly loyal to Caermyn for purely selfish reasons - as a half-orc no one else would give him a chance, certainly not in a village controlled by the Stags.

He is fond of whores, preferring the older more jaded sort that don't flinch at his orcan visage and only care about the clink of his coin. He is fond of drink and earned his nickname for his capacity to down bootlegged gin, but never drinks while working.

On the topic of his race he is quietly bitter, but philosophical, and too old to let the jibes of others get to him anymore.

Spiritually he is 'opportunistic', seeing the value in remaining on the good side of plenty of gods, but ultimately sends his prayers to Tempus - knowing the Foehammer will only care about his skill and lack of fear, and offer him a good enough afterlife as an Einherjar.

Goals:
Excel as a mercenary
Loadsa Money
Magnificent Bastardry
Rise to some position of minor prominence that assures his future but doesn't require leadership
Look out for #1[/hide]

One thing not mentioned in the bio was Rodagh's lingering resentment of humanity for how he was treated, which fed into the melancholia that caused him to remain in the Mortals, even as it became increasingly obvious to him it was a set-up. You can see more of this in Avery's Screenshots

He would later join the Mortals of Sanq in a desperate bid (ironically) to preserve his life when it became obvious to him Mistlocke was doomed.

The Old Hack

I almost feel sad for Rotgut now. The irony is, when Merelda gave him what gold she had, she genuinely hoped he would make it to Old Port where he might stand a chance. She felt he had earned it for fighting in defense of Mistlocke.

Really good character!

Dillusionist

Fantastic PC. Wish we could've interacted more as we neared the end. I absolutely loved being there for that turning point when he realized how bad things were looking with Owain and ran away to Nebezzdos out of desperation.

Deception

Dendar the Night Serpent? Holy shit, that's awesome

el groso

Cool half orc temper

Calixto

Give me a break. An evil halfling and an emo half-orc were instrumental in ending the world.

Good work!
