I propose that +2 magical damage be added as a part of it's lvl 5.  Being an archer in NWN is still incredibly underwhelming in comparison to wielding a melee weapon.  You can't be hasted, have an element added or even made +1 as with magic weapon.  When you're firing 300 arrows every time you log in to play for a couple hours, those magical bundles of 5-50 arrows dry up quick.

Therefore, I think tossing a little extra damage the way of a level 5 pure fighter archer would help to let us see a lot more non-rogue archery.

What do yall think?

You can be hasted, and longbows have the only +1 non-dm loot wepaon you can find, and the bundles of arrows are for engagements that are hard and need to be won with an extra push. While I am all for giving players more incentive to make more of these great mage assassins, runner killers, and ultra versatile chars.

A better change would be to add mighty to bows equipped by the fighter with said perk, or give them piercing or bludgeoning damage to represent the high impact of an arrow shot.

Paha

Definitely not necessary. The sheer advantage of being able to stand still and hit enemies close and far is not to be underestimated. If it was at bar with normal melee damage and their buffs, it would be insane.

In my opinion, the spawned bundles should be greater. Get 1 lesser disspelling arrow on hit is really amusing. And Archer is helpless when he finds any crature with damage immunity/soak and has no magic arrows.

The range of arrows generated could be modified to be more quirky. Otherwise it's fine as is.

Outcast

A higher quantity of arrows per reset would be cool.

A fighter with the sharpshooter perk can get very impressive AB, do moderate damage and have 4 apr (while hasted) just by level 6, not to mention a critical hit by a longbow can be devastating.

I played one for a short time and was thoroughly surprised and amazed at how powerful the PC actually was. I don't think that the perk need to be modified by any means though increasing the amount/variety of arrows would definitely be cool.

wcsherry

It's very strong as is. Thanks for the suggestion!
