I've never liked the Numinous Order, though my reasons weren't exactly quite fair. Many of my previous concepts have had antagonistic relationships, and the few that didn't rarely mingled with them. Too grim, too same-y. When Hototo died, and an Order prelude was announced, I figured- well, why not give it a shot now and see for yourself?

Gerard Sorrel was a Sembian ex-slaver, ex-pirate, ex-etc. who was captured by the Count's armada after scuttling the wrong ship and sentenced to a life of hard labor in what he came to know as the 'Count's Cave'. He was a grade-A piece of shit who was used to setting a value on a human life, and had resigned himself to chipping stone and trading garnets for meals until one fateful day...

Half of our intrepid band of Order initiates, five years ago. Winston ran a pretty fantastic pre-prelude. Great guy, would play again, 10/10

Some of the batch of Ordermen running around Mistlocke had some interesting nicknames. This was Gerard's initiative, as a hold-over from his slaving days- giving the product a nickname helped to de-humanize them, ensuring that there were no attachments. Silifrey was Ink, because of all the tattoos. Ivan was Elfkiller, since that's what got him locked up. Arnaud was Chair-leg, because he kept suggesting that we use chair legs to shore up crumbling cave walls. Gerard was Orcslain, for catching a critical from an orc that knocked him from full HP to bleeding, nearly ending my concept before it was an hour old.

Eventually, the entire group escaped the Count's cave. Here's our group shot. It was the last time our timezones would be so kind to us again.

Of course, even reformed, Orcslain struggled to maintain his vows and resist backsliding into the man he once was. He stopped drinking and cursing, and indulging in thoughts of lust and giving into greed- at least, in public. For a while.

A trial occurred for -reasons-. Old Stones was appropriately creepy.

Caster demonstrates pro-RPing skills.

Somewhere, Kossuth is smiling.

Burial at the Lake of Mist. De Sonnac's voice on the wind. The Mist is pretty creepy.

I didn't get nearly as many shots as I would've liked, and what little more I have should be kinda spoilered for ongoing possible plots. But I had a lot of fun while it lasted, and would definitely recommend giving the Order a try. A lot of lore written down, even more to discover.

Somnolescent

It was brief and our timezones were unkind to us...
But I had a wonderful time with you - all of you.

Thank you.

Great character!

Ironside

Seems like we all decided to die within a week of each other, hah! Had some great times with you man.

Adam

ORCSLAIN, The dysfunctional father figure of a shellshocked kid.

Caster13

It was so much fun messing with Orcslain :P

Orcslain was pretty much the perfect Footman, in my opinion. I am ashamed to admit it took me a long time to figure out the difference between you and Boulder. :( That said, shame on you for always confusing ME for Boulder. >.<

AllMYBudgies

Of all the things he achieved, I would wager that nothing topped his epic, somewhat embarassing attempt at a drinking contest.

Gerard, on his arse

I loved him. Well done Blue41!

Lord Byron

AMB, your portrait creeps me out.

The Old Hack

I witnessed that drinking contest. It was one for the sagas. Awesome character, WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIIIIIIIIE! >.<

PS: Awesome portrait, AMB.
