Numinous Order Dye Barrel

The dye barrel in Blackhearth seems to be empty of black dye, i.e., anything put into it isn't dyed black but comes out the same original colour it went in with.

Is it only supposed to work on certain items?

I've tried using the dye barrel a number of times but it's never worked once for me. WinstonMartin has witnessed me trying to use the barrel to dye a helm and cloak I was using a while back to no avail.

Gotta second this; It works on most things, but it liked to be weird about helmets when I used it.  They would come out different shades than the uniforms.

It works but the metal colors of the Order uniform is finicky and prone to change by themselves. Bioware stuff, not us.
