QuoteMaleken Ten'gregnos History.

Born into the world with the gift of Magic, Maleken only ever knew its curse. Unable to control his magical gift at a young age, those around him where either seriously harmed or killed. Soon he was left with nothing.

Abandoned onto the streets, he had to fight to stay in control or risk burning everyone and everything around him. Years wandering the back alleys, surviving eating Rats and scrounging for gold taught Maleken one thing.

Humanity was weak.

As such he set out to learn what made him different, where he found his powers and how he could not only control them, but empower them.

He forged a tale of his ancestory, which recruited the poor the niave and the reckless into his fold. That of his bloodline, Ten'gregnos and the riches of power and gold that would be given to those that aided him in his search to control his bloodline.

This brought him to the Waterdeep Academy, becoming one of the few bloodborns to walk the halls of the magnificent wealth of knowledge.

What he discovered more than anything. Was his hate towards the Bookworm, the "wizard". Having spent years of suffering at the hands of his own gift, he was disgusted and infuriated at the idea of others being able to master magic without such an experience.

These feelings he kept hidden, manipulating his class mates to aid him so that one day he could destroy them.

And then came Ymph....

Becoming a Black Dragon Disciple.

Knowing that to become a PRC is hard work, knowing that my rituals in themselves would require a large amount of DM attention. I set myself a bold task.

EFU had several pieces of the White Wrym, held by players. My goal, was to collect in the very least 4 of these pieces. I would also need 1 white stag antler, 1 large diamond and the blood of all those particapating.

Knowing the rarity of these items, I knew it could be impossible to do everything needed to even achieve the first Ritual.. let alone replacating this 3 times.

In the end, I used The heart, the Hide, the scales, The claws of Apipolextharos and the Blood of Slithushulax. 3 large diamonds, 1 large Loot item with 4 charges raise dead, 2 sets of dragon bile and 7 white stag antlers.

What was an impossible task become a reality.

//Second Ritual

Losing a son..

In the end, 3 people where lost. Bryndan Thorvald, in a duel to the death on Mistlockes Bridge.

Tyagi, his body unable to survive the second ritual.. was Blown to pieces.

And Lazare, who left the conclave having given up on life entirely..

Each of them found a place to forever be remembered.

Hoping not to disrupt your post flow, but I must say that Maleken was an impressive character. So different from our early interactions, and Balthasar avoiding the gaze of the Conclave really limited anything I could see of him.

What I remember the most is seeing him fully changed as we gathered in the Mythallar room, then as Slithushulax leaves, how he told all his 'children' to acknowledge their departing brother and those who were draconically mutated following the order. I had nothing to do with the PC at that point, though I felt proud to be a part of the Conclave there and then. Moments like that are not easily forgotten!

It is through Art, and through Art only, that we can realise our perfection.

SanTelmo

A very nice PC with whom it was joy to play with.

Akrasia

Was great playing with Maleken. He was the best Caliphar to be bonded to, obviously.

The Old Hack

One of the harder things to pull off is to play a character who is not mererly different but actually inhuman -- and to do it in a convincing way that isn't just mad cackling and twirling of moustaches. Maleken pulled this off.

NetherGonnaGiveYouUp

A fine and stellar example of a sorceror really representing their particular take on the class.  I very much enjoyed scheming with you and Lazare.
