Problems with lycanthropy as a plague

My PC was voluntarily infected with lycanthropy by another character. This means that I have no control over it, which is fine, I understand the reasons for that.

The problem I'm having is that the change to were-form happens so frequently, and lasts for such a short amount of time, that it makes the character unplayable. The were-form almost never seems to last more than  minute or two, which isn't enough time to roleplay properly. Sometimes it's not even enough time to make it through an area transition before I switch back to human form.

Basically, I'm just flipping between forms all the time, with never enough time in either one to "act out" what my character would do. It's not very much fun. I would suggest making the transformation less frequent, and setting a minimum amount of time (at least 5 minutes) that you stay in were-form. Right now I don't have enough time to get a DM for PvP before I change back to human form.
