I was briefly in the Aberrant team and whenever we engaged in conflict there was never any unfairness or full death; the "King" was extremely fair, way more so than I would have ever expected had I known who he was played by.

Though I can't help but express admiration for the fact that your post suggests he defeated a war-party of 13 single-handedly! He really does win EfU.

Everyone has power to make change and impact the server, especially when dealing with things constructed by or built around PCs. Don't give up until you try. Almost all great things are done by PC initiative. Just look at how H'bala was accidentally freed.

Lies! It was no accident, it was inevitable, it was foretold!

...

Or was it?

It is through Art, and through Art only, that we can realise our perfection.

Alot of the things people have problems with are out of their reach or in control of the people upstairs.

Example: People IC wanted to oppose the Aberrant because they were sick of everyone dieing. The King himself comes out of invisibility while we're checking out a Aberrant corpse and trying to figure out how he died. A war-party of 13 is down in a quarter of a second. Then a single Conclave member comes by and does it again while we're all still recovering just to kill the King because he's weak from fighting all of us.

You need -ridiculous- amounts of power or enough charisma to sway an -entire- server just to follow your interests and get your desired results through an IC manner. What you're asking of people is a very high order.

Just to point this out, you just said someone attacked after the other guy was weakened... This- That right there, you said it yourself. You want to be the second guy who shows up. Not the first, and then problem solved.

 Just my Two cents.

The person who downed said King was another high-up guy from the Conclave. I can't remember his name. I think maybe was Agneo with all the summoned things. Not sure.

You can seize power but it is difficult - it wouldn't be worth doing if it wasn't.

I wouldn't say 'ridiculous' amounts. It is a high order but very much doable. The server's history is littered with characters who have done this... the Montezzis, de Olid, Sunellar and a whole litany of other PCs have, for periods of time, effectively controlled the server.

Important to note they all also met their ends too, either via their own mistakes or by player action, so nobody is unassailable!

All it takes is some planning, creativity and boldness to take on the "big guys" of the server, whether they are Conclave, Stygians, Sons, Caermyn, Aberdenn or whatever else happens by.

Don't be afraid to take risks just because there's some super-powerful PC that may take offense, because that "super-powerful" PC has a weakness. Just try to avoid stupid risks.. unless stupid risks are what your character is about.

Every character relies on something, be it spells, potions, their sword, stealth, summons, or whatever else. Every character I have ever made, I have looked at their character sheet and have been like "damn.. all it takes is for someone to come along with one of those and I'm toast."

You don't become successful in EfU by downing a bunch of potions and charging out, you become successful by planning out your battles and being creative in your RP, plots and various encounters, and by being willing to take risks when they are called for.

Also, I agree entirely with RwG's post.
