Selfish abjuration ideas

It's always when you're experiencing something first hand that you notice faults that could use improvement. It makes it seem selfish but really it's harder to notice things unless you're using it personally. Sometimes you just don't even think about it until it comes up in use.

One is Arcane Defence: Abjuration. Arcane Defence is a feat that is seldom taken if ever, and when it is it is more for the rp representation of a mastery in a school. This feat gives you a +2 to saves vs spells of your chosen spell school. It requires you to have a spell focus in that school also as a prerequisite. The problem with this is Abjuration spells do not have any DCs to them. It doesn't -appear- that the +2 is added vs dispel checks either, but I could be wrong. That is hard to test, and what spellcaster doesn't already have 10 spellcraft to max out the dispel check anyway? I don't have a suggestion on how to make this already unappreciated feat actually do anything, but in its current state it doesn't provide any effect at all, almost like weapon focus: trident *winks*

The other one is maybe a little boost to Ward Area. Scrying doesn't work at all in a certain portion of the server via the Scry spell. It's not often used as a result in efu:m, replaced by a different form of scrying: arcane eye. Spoke about this with the player of a prominent divination wizard and we thought it'd be a good idea if GSF: Abjuration also made it so that Ward Area also blocks attempts of Arcane Eye passing through. That way a skilled and specialist abjurer can sort of flaunt a little bit of proficiency. Seems to make sense considering Arcane Eye is a form of scrying really, so why not have specialized abjurers able to defend from both scrying methods.

I would have presumed that ward area nullified arcane eye myself. Makes sense.

Ebok

I think Ward Area blocks Arcane Eye already.

Staring Death

If you are already spying with arcane eye, it will block it. But further attempts will go through easily, as was explained to me.

Had an idea for Arcane Defence: Abjuration! So like, Arcane Ddefence feats give +2 vs spells of that school. How about make it give +2 to the caster level for dispel effects, similar to a feat version how the Rune Master perk worked? That makes it so that people who invest in spell focus and Arcane Defence in abjuration can resist offensive abjurations a little better in the same way other Arcane Defence feats function.

Or make it so that spell breach effects remove one less spell than normal. I.E. lesser spell breach removes one spell instead of two, and greater breach removes three spells instead of four.

Staring Death: I don't know if a ward area cast upon the spot an Arcane Eye is currently in effect at will dispel it, but I do know if you walk through a warded area with Arcane Eye it will not stop you from passing through.

It'd make sense if Arcane Defense Abjuration raised your CL in respect to dispel, which is really the only abjuration spell I can think of that would be considered directly offensive in any degree.

TBH this seems more like something suited for spell focus abjuration, or GSF. At least to me.

Ward area does not block arcane eye
