[FONT="Palatino Linotype"][SIZE="3"]There is something terrible and awe-inspiring occurring within this faction, especially since they started abducting mages and moved off that slump period of doing nothing after banishment from Mistlocke. The Empire of Magic has taken on a new face, for better or for worse, is yet to be seen.

I for one would invite concepts with a more Goodly bent to join, because whilst everyone on Ymph practically wants to kill a caliphar, intra-factional conflict is also fun and may alter the direction of things, or result in a soul being stowed away within the Soul Archive...

Keep in mind that you do not have to play a mage to join. There are mages who do not have a consort currently, and the path of the Neophyte (the rank bestowed upon non-mages upon induction, as long as they remain without a Bonded mage) is also present.

Come sojourner, and bow thy head before the Transcendent Conclave. Now raise thy chin and bear witness to the grandeur of the Empire of Magic in all of its glory, and bathe with us in its arcane majesty.

Yet be weary, for the darkness which we stand against always threatens to destroy us from within...

I'll begin by stating that this Faction is still changing and part of some unique developments which you will definitely not see anywhere else. It seems we have adapted to the issue of players being 'banished' from Mistlocke by making an alternate gathering hub, a floating fortress even, to make up for the lack of interaction this would otherwise inflict upon players.

Now this is more selfish of me, but I'm going to quickly explain the position of Consorts and their place in the Transcendent Conclave. Whilst the Mistlocke Manual entry provides a brief outline on the faction itself, the magus and non magus (as consorts cannot be wizards or sorcerers) Bond aspect of playing the Conclave seems to remain a major part of the faction and provides an incredibly unique roleplay experience.

The Consort is not some glorified guardian, as through the Bonding process they become the second half of a magus and each represents the other on equal footing and they share rank, reward, glory, failure, amongst various other find-out-in-game elements. They should ideally have a mind of their own, goals of their own to pursue usually tied to self improvement and assisting their partner, and if it is associated with Magic, the better it is for them, at least within this organisation.

To the point, my character is seeking a Consort, and concepts with a strong element of delving into secrets and mysteries and embracing the majesty of Magic in all of its glory would make for an ideal duo. With that said, I have to admit he is a bit of an elitist, and I don't intend to make this an OOC recruitment where I give away details- just putting this option out there for anyone who might have a meshing concept floating around and ready to adapt it for mutual glory.

Another thing about consorts is, they do not have to have shared playtimes (yay!) as if the two players manage to cover alternate time zones they can keep the other updated on events and make progress on their shared goals in places where the other could not. Ideally you'd still want a decent amount of interaction between the two PCs though.

Anyway, that's all folks. Enjoy!

PS: Being a Consort does not necessarily involve anything sexual.
