Allow me to help any new players with a swift breakdown, on how things are done in EFU, in regaurds towards Weapons, Armor, and, Shields.

Weapons

Martial:
This generally is common enough in all its variants that you should be able to find what your looking for, From Long swords to War hammers the loot table has you covered.

Tridents very widespread, are now medium weapons rather then large, and can be equipped with a shield, and used twohanded by the smaller races, such as Halfling and Gnome.

Simple:
This is also quite widespread, spears and Quarter staves are easy to find, and also the other weapons of this tree are quite easy to run into.

Something to note is that, Quaterstaves are now a type of double weapon which is 1d6/1d3.
Ex of a double weapon: Double sword, or Double Axe (Both are under Exotic).

Exotic:
This is where the waters start to get murky, everything in exotic can easily be rare enough to pull your hair out, or you might just noticed everyone selling one. For example when a bastard sword is found on a quest. If no one uses it, it will most likely be trashed rather then sold. Same goes with a double weapon or the like. Also as a side note, weapons in the exotic category such as Bastard sword or dwarfen war axe are much easier to find, then something such as a Katanna, which is as easy to find as a white stag. (Which means, its ungodly rare)

Also note with Whips, with the correct override, can be dual wielded.

Throwables:
There are many new throwables implimented into EFU, they not only are often used by NPC spawns, but also can be used to great effect by PCs.

A few more notable examples are, Rotted fruit item that looks like a tanglefoot bag, yet can be thrown at targets to, as you guessed, pelt something with rotted fruit.

Ranged Weapons:
Due to the place these hold in EFU, It was thought best to give them their own catagory.
These weapons, are common as the rest more so shortbows and longbows, as well as both heavy and light variants of the crossbow. Yet, you will be hardpressed to find any darts or throwing axes while shuriken are widespread and somewhat common. Also, mighty ranged weapons are excessively hard to come by in a shop and in all cases must be found in an adventure or the like.

Armor

Cloth/Light:
Its everywhere, you honestly cannot do most quests without tripping over, from 1-3 sets of this, in all honesty this is day to day wear if DnD was real life, so it makes sense. Rogues and ranger holiday with the amount of leathers open for them.

Medium:
Also called the poor man’s full plate, This armor easily found in mundane to the rare +1 on efu, you can easy carve yourself a bad ass trooper like soldier walking around with a chain shirt or lesser in efu. Not to worry they are also as common as leathers and shouldn’t be too hard to run into a set of this beauty.

Heavy:
This is, the end all when it comes to personal protection in EFU, this is what all true fighters strive for. A set of fullplate or roughly some heavy armor to troop around in and be the literal wall of steel. But making full plate back in the day was not easy, so finding one of these rare gems will also be incredibly hard. But, Half plate the poor man's plate in history is somewhat easier to run into.

Shields

Small:
They are everywhere, from common monster drops, to loot in quests, if you don't find a small shield within the first two-three days you are either cursed or ungodly lucky. Efu has the charm of spitting out more small shields then a gnome armory. Also as a side note, +1 small shields are a common occurrence.

Medium:
This shields will be your bread and butter in EFU, they combined weight with defensibility, allowing you to be a plate mail, shield wielder and not have to worry about being encumbered 99% of your time living in EFU. Now, in saying this, this category is also known to have the rare and elusive +1 in EFU.

Tower:
This is the literal tower of defense, the grandest of all shields, the most heavy and if you’re coming from another server, you will most likely be drawn to these at once! But - Warning to the wise this, may not be the best choice as it comes to fighters its weight and sheer lack of stats in most cases may not be what you want to aim for unless you’re looking to spice up your fighter, and make him an amazing Tower shielder or some such!
The rare +1 is virtually non-existent in this category.

Other

Stores:

Also, I would like to mention Stores have a money system within them. That prevents a shopkeeper from having that unlimited amount of gold. The way this works is that, they will have money as pc's buy from them, and lose it as pcs sell to them.

Also another side note is that most things will not be bought by merchants and what ever can be sold, is often taken for small amount, their may be exceptions of course, in the depths of the isle, away from general trade.

So find enclosed the first of many Weapon overrides. Making your kukri, maces, Dwarven Waraxes, Greataxes, spears and bastard swords look awesome. Including completely different looks, much more realistic looking weapon designs and much higher res skins. The spears are done by Sixesthrice, one of the best nwn1 custom artists around and it shows. Spears are quite popular in efu:A at the time of writing so this one should be useful in particular.
The other fantastic aspect of this, is that where as changing the colour of a weapon part with vanilla Bioware weapons gave you the options of gold, silver and bronze colours. A lot of the overrides are so jam packed with content, that changing the colour completely changes the blade just like changing the style. So expect a much MUCH richer array of weapons.
Possibly Coming Soon:, Greatswords, Daggers, Clubs.

Thanks to Porkolt, ScruffyMcSmirkalot, Vlaid, and, StevenMaurer for their excellent help in improving this Guide.

Porkolt

This would be the excellent place to also note the following.

- In EFU, quarterstaves are double weapons. The same penalties as with using a double sword, dire mace, etc. apply. There are no additional proficiencies required to use it, though.
- Tridents count as medium instead of large weapons. This means that for medium creatures it is possible to wield a trident using one hand instead of two (and for example, use a shield at the same time), and for small creatures it is possible to wield a trident using two hands instead of not at all. This puts the trident on par with other one-handed weapons, instead of  it merely being an inferior form of spear.

It also means, that races such as a halfling or gnome can wield a trident.

Also, I would like to inform any new players,

That there are a vast variety of new throwables in EFU.

Note, they will look the same, but the name and their price in a store will show you otherwise. Their effects range from clouds of laughing gas, to rotten fruit to throw at captives!

ScruffyMcSmirkalot

Hmmm, isn't "dual wielding whips" still allowed, with the override?

Vlaid

I would link to the override with the new weapons, shields and armor appearances also.

Ranged weapons with the Mighty property

Bows with a stronger pull (i.e. the Mighty property allowing a PC to use a portion of their STR bonus) are extremely rare in EFU. You cannot simply purchase one at a shop, even a bow with a lowly Mighty +1.

Darts and Throwing axes are unchanged, but seem to be essentially not for sale anywhere, even at the dwarf merchant in the Delving.
