This feat grants auto detection on all stealthed creatures in visual range no matter how high their stealth is, meaning any wizard with this familiar gets free tremor sense on demand.

Brimstone Sermon

It's far from the only familiar with Blindsight. The tremor sense might tell you someone's about, but only the Familiar gets to attack it, not the Wizard unless they chug a load of detection. On the other hand there's plenty of familiars with trap handling, locks, larger amounts of buffs etc.

Also Blindsense will work IIRC as hearing not seeing the person in question. So you can detect but not identify them. I rather like it as it means PCs  keep their familiars out and allow for RP, rather than hiding them because they're scared of XP loss or that the familiar is Evil.

SkillFocuspwn

I'm relatively certain this should be a bug report rather than a suggestion.

The King Of Beasts

If a wizard is intelligent enough to keep his bat out 24/7, I say, bravo.

Stealthers may have it tough, but it doesn't mean they need to be indetectable in their chosen field!

Porkolt

Shoot bat, problem solved.

Johannes

Whereas this is clearly a problem, I do wish that the OP had shown a little more discretion in reporting it!

Lenthis

Kinda think this should be tossed in exploitable bugs...

Not wanting to be automatically detected under any circumstance is not the same as wanting to be undetectable. Not sure how logic is remotely applicable to such a supposition.

The King Of Beasts

Oh, I misread. I never had that experience when I played four mages with the  bat familiar...but then, it might be because any stealthers nearby were around when the bat wasn't around, or weren't hostile so my bat would detect them.

How queer.

Mort

It's okay. I'll fix this bug.

el groso

I never thought this was a bug, since it makes all sense in the world. Also, mind you, blind sight does not work as true seeing (the vanilla version), there is a distance (short range) the bat must be from the target to 'spot' it.

Mort

Well, the fact we removed blindsight from Umberhulk form/Polymorph self, and modified True Seeing sortof HINTS toward our mentality in regards to auto-spotting stealth.
